July 22nd, 2014 4:48 AMHikamaruI was just reading a White 2 Wedlocke thread on Marriland Forums by user HW9000 and oh boy you should have seen how much pain he went through, as mentioned in this spoiler below:
Spoiler:He had two major battles where he lost almost his entire team. First Clay slaughters 5 of his team (Dewott, Electabuzz, Ampharos, Leavanny (shiny) and Darumaka, leaving Crobat as the survivor there) and then it happens again against Ghetsis where he loses two pairs (Crobat + Cinccino and Zebstrika + Azumarill, leaving just his Krookodile and Unfezant). Didn't also help he had another death extremely early in the game as well, when School Kid Cassie's Pansage takes out his Purrloin in Alder's house. And also another pair (a Roserade and Flygon) fell against Zinzolin in Opelucid City due to a shared Ice weakness.
That's like just as bad as when Marriland himself had that massacre from the Kimono Girls in the HeartGold Wedlocke. -
July 21st, 2014 9:36 AMHikamaruI was reading your HeartGold posts in the Wedlocke thread in PC's Challenges section and yeah I did feel sorry for you against Chuck since he was pretty rough against your team there given you lost four Pokemon against him, two of those four to crits.
Reminds me of that one Marriland HeartGold Wedlocke episode where he lost four of his team to the Kimono Girls, three of which were killed by Sayo's Jolteon. -
July 21st, 2014 6:30 AMHikamaruI read through your Wedlocke challenge thread and I have to admit some of your nickname themes were pretty cool, such as the Pokemon in your HeartGold run being named after musical instruments.
The nicknaming theme you used in White 2 was an interesting one, I guess they were all named after constellations if I'm right?
I did like some of the naming themes Marriland used in his Wedlockes, such as the Pokemon in his Black Wedlocke being named after birds, or the Black 2 Wedlocke's Pokemon being named after dance moves. -
July 14th, 2014 6:32 AMHikamaruI guess your Serperior was the Cardinal/Fries/Carrot of your playthrough there, the irony is that Marriland tends to lose his starter at some point. But wow, Colress surely was rough there but your Crobat surviving was pretty intense only for it to be taken by Ghetsis afterwards. As for Iris, it's kinda interesting they gave her Haxorus a Focus Sash because it makes you have to be more strategic to take it down.

July 14th, 2014 6:16 AMPendraflareAh yes, I remember that video against Ghetsis. Turkey has made me want to use Garbodor myself :P And then Chickadee, dear sweet gravy. He does have quite a bit he’ll be coming up against, so i’m surely hoping he works things out.
As for me, yeah it really sucked. I was against a Heracross that was faster and doing roughly half to my Crustle, who was about to faint, so I switched in Lucario (her partner) and hoped he would use Stone Edge, but he used Close Combat. Then Blastoise dying was the icing on the cake. After what I was faced with, I was like, it’s almost Christmas, and I should be happy, not crying because of selfish people who want to watch my Pokémon die. ;-;
I mentioned this in the DCC thread in Pokémon Gaming Central, but in the spring I did another one on White 2, but this time without items instead of the Center restrictions or Set mode. Over half my deaths started with Colress in the Plasma Frigate, where my Sandslash died against his Beheeyem, but then my Crobat (which I gave Heat Wave for that fight) lived a +1 Giga Impact from his Klinklang with 5 HP, and then his Metang missed with Rock Slide and she lived. But then, she and her new partner (a Flygon) died shortly after that against Ghetsis.
After losing two more members in Victory Road, I did make it through the Elite Four without losing anyone. When it came to Iris, I had a Haxorus that I used because I didn’t have much else for her, and he started the fight good but unfortunately her Lapras busted my Unfezant (who was probably my favorite team member of the whole adventure), then her mirror-match killed my Haxorus with Outrage thanks to the Focus Sash.
But I was lucky enough to get an Absol on Route 13, which came to the rescue after that thanks to Sucker Punch. And my Serperior survived the whole game, which felt awesome. :) (Even if he hardly got any action in the league.) -
July 12th, 2014 12:39 PMHikamaruYeah, I find it odd he's using a Deerling again although it's a male one this time, it's like how he used a Gothorita in both these Wedlockes and they were opposite genders, although I feel sorry for the moment where Calypso died because she was only one level away from becoming a Gothitelle.
When he was getting teammates to replace Calypso and Bossa Nova, he knew he had to take Volta the Joltik (she was the only female Pokemon available, despite her terrible nature) but then had to debate between Foxtrot, as well as Disco the Ducklett and Twist the Litwick. He had to take Foxtrot because he didn't want to increase the Rock weakness that was already prominent on the team.
But yeah, I love how Chickadee survived a Fire Blast from Ghetsis' Hydreigon and then proceeds to OHKO it with a Jump Kick. And also, he had a really fun team member in Turkey the Garbodor (the irony is that he hates Garbodor in general) who managed to do a nice strategy against his Cohagrigus, only to die against Bouffalant afterwards.
I hope the next Black 2 Wedlocke videos are good ones, maybe there might be a death to come. I want to see how well Foxtrot and Volta do, because well I think a Galvantula and a Sawsbuck together would be an interesting couple.
And yeah, I felt quite sad when I read your story about you losing both your Blastoise and Lucario in a Wedlocke in X all because you were misjudged and unprepared in Victory Road. -
July 12th, 2014 12:28 PMPendraflareEMOLGA! GRRRRRRRR :P It feels like longer than that actually. But i'm hoping Foxtrot the Deerling will be as good as what Chickadee was, I remember the final battle with Ghetsis from Black and that was something!

July 10th, 2014 8:14 AMHikamaruI find it so funny that Marriland seems to have something against Sigilyph ever since the death of Bossa Nova and Calypso against Skyla in the Black 2 Wedlocke. Even the Sigilyph N used in B/W was kinda troublesome for that point in the game.
It's just as funny as his hatred towards Emolga. -
July 6th, 2014 8:59 PMHikamaru...and now I just watched the latest Black 2 Wedlocke where Bossa Nova (Weezing) and Calypso (Gothorita) both die against Skyla's Sigilyph. Also, on a side note, Bergamask (Cohagrigus) survives with a tiny bit of his HP. Thankfully Polka (Cinccino) saved the day with her Rock Blast.

July 6th, 2014 8:14 PMHikamaruNow I have just watched the moment in the Black Wedlocke where Aquilavus the Carracosta dies to Accelgor's Giga Drain... but that's mainly to blame for Devin using Shell Smash prior and a nasty 4x weakness to Grass. But yeah the Cynthia battle in the Platinum Nuzlocke looks to be intense if what you said is anything to go by.
-
July 6th, 2014 7:39 PMPendraflareVery true, that episode was just...oh my goodness, he was THIS close to kicking the bucket.
But if you think that's insanity, just wait until you get to his final battle with Cynthia. THAT is a battle that your mind will be blown by. -
July 6th, 2014 7:35 PMHikamaruI also saw that Platinum Nuzlocke video where Starwing the Staraptor and Eggpie the Crobat were slayed by Giratina's Ancient Power. I also really feel for Polarity the Magnezone (it was a shiny as well) who fell to a critical hit Heat Wave from Cyrus' Honchkrow in the episode before.

July 6th, 2014 1:55 PMPendraflareAh man, I remember that from a year and a half ago. It's no easier to watch even today D:

July 6th, 2014 11:17 AMHikamaruSo I'm watching Marriland's HeartGold Wedlocke series and oh god you should have seen my reaction to the deaths of Plum the Gengar, Turnip the Feraligatr and Scallion the Tauros. All slayed by the one Jolteon... and then Grape the Jumpluff got slayed by the Vaporeon right after it.
Next I gotta watch the one where Peach the Primeape and Carrot the Raticate get slaughtered by Blue. -
July 5th, 2014 11:13 PMHikamaruI surely love my blue Pokemon... and dem Mudkipz
