June 9th, 2011 11:42 AMsolarowlYay! :DD
I'll hopefully be on more too.
Oh, thought you said Runts there. XD
So, how are you? -
June 9th, 2011 1:13 AMNutellaSorry 'bout that, champ! The exam period is pretty much wrapping up, so I can come on much more often (like my earlier days). How have you been? I was very glad to read that you're opening up more, and that the 'rents are starting to understand you. =)

May 27th, 2011 11:42 AMsolarowlOMG You're back! :DD
I thought I lost you....
which would be sad because you just helped me... ;; -
May 16th, 2011 6:45 AMsolarowlSorry for late reply.
Thanks, Nutella.
I think I've opened up a bit more to them, and I think they're starting to understand me. =) -
May 8th, 2011 12:57 AMNutellaI know exactly how you feel- and I was like that too. I still am sort of like that, but not to the extent I bottle up too much. I'm not going to push you, but I just want to tell you from my personal experience that the only way that these kinds of issues and bad feelings get resolved is by relaying them. Most people don't like to, and that's one of the many reasons why people are depressed. Society has a notion that we should repress more than express. That works for me, but repressing those kinds of feelings will just eat you whole. I've pretty much fought with depression a large chunk of my life, and I wish I had seen somebody sooner. Well, I'm hoping you don't need to see anybody, but my main point was that if you feel like it's consuming you, chances are, it is, and it's best to address it in a pace you're comfortable with.

May 7th, 2011 11:14 PMsolarowlI know, it's just I never feel I can open up to anyone, and tell them how I feel. It's just something that doesn't feel right, for me.
-
May 6th, 2011 11:09 PMNutellaThat's alright. The operative phrase you just used is "don't think." Meaning, you don't know for certain. It's not lame to have a heart-to-heart with your parents (or just one if two is daunting) and explain how you feel. Maybe they're just not good at expressing praise and such?

May 5th, 2011 7:45 PMsolarowlThanks for the help.
I get A's all the time, do well on exams and stuff, but I still don't think they care. -
May 4th, 2011 9:20 PMNutellaI remember feeling that way at one stage, because my younger sister was the one doing well in school, hell, attending school when I wasn't. Her personality clashes with Mum's a lot less, and the immaturer me thought that meant Mum loved her more, or approved of her more.
If it bothers you as much as I think it may, you should make sure your parents know you're trying. I know it's corny, but that's the most important thing. People rarely succeed on the first turn- especially something "big" like study. You should also tell your parents that Pokemon was intended for younger children, but people our age these days enjoy franchises for "younger children"- I'm old, but I enjoy Pokemon, Kirby, kids TV shows, etc.. If they want you to "grow up", they need to reassess what it really means to "grow up." -
May 4th, 2011 6:51 AMsolarowlNo, I haven't really decided yet. :/
I'm not really sure if I am a leader.
But when I try, it's discouraging when my sister does everything right while my parents are still stuck on me liking Pokemon. -
May 3rd, 2011 11:37 PMNutellaHave you ever thought about what you wanted to lead? A business? A sports team? You don't even have to be a leader professionally; maybe a leader by virtue?
-
May 3rd, 2011 2:39 PMsolarowlThey've always wanted me to be a leader, and use that same term. XD
Just take a step farther than anyone else, but I've yet to do that. -
May 2nd, 2011 11:07 PMNutellaWhat do you mean by that? Elaborate plz.
-
May 2nd, 2011 5:57 AMsolarowlYeah, same. Or at least that's what my parents want me to be my whole life.
-
May 1st, 2011 11:42 PMNutellaI would prefer to stand out than fade into the background- I'm not much of a follower; I tend to be a leader.
