June 3rd, 2013 4:56 AMGrif of HeartsI do fabulous best!
Oh, I see. Well, if you happen to have Slowpoke or Teddiursa as a starter, I wouldn't complain even slightly. Not. Even. Slightly.
Exactly. Not every route has to be trekked through by everyone. On the map I made for example there is indeed a water path linking the rock and water islands together, but they might miss it entirely if they want to head up to the electric island and then back around to the rock one. -
June 3rd, 2013 4:46 AMNakuzamiOf course it is. d;
Random Pineco falling on your head, lol. But, no, it's because I had intended to use Deino as my starter. d:
Sounds good. I had figured each island would have multiple routes anyways, but we might not visit them all/a player may optionally visit them to train and catch pokémon. Also, with the "power-level fences" I mentioned, that could give roleplayers decent reason to stay en route. ;3 -
June 3rd, 2013 2:54 AMGrif of HeartsIt's *fabulous*.
Munchlax seems fairly sensible. And Pineco! We need to fill the forests with dozens of them.
Because Deino eat so much honey? They seem far more suitable for the endless, shadowy forests of the dark-type island.
Exactly! I've moved Drymos in place of the grass island, and put the grass island in place of where Drymos used to be. It should be more suitable now. Plus, giving the main island several routes and slowly opening them up as the story goes along means that people don't have to spend ages writing about how their characters trekked all the way back the way they came. They can just hop over a newly opened shortcut. -
June 2nd, 2013 6:38 PMNakuzamiYes indeed, it is~ And gay enough d;
Yeah, common pokemon like Caterpie will probably be found all over the place, so long as the habitat is suitable. And, yes, I do think it would be an adorable team. ^-^; I'll have to add Munchlax to it, too. It'll be odd, because I'll have four bears and a Deino, lol.
That's one way of going about it, yes. We could also have the characters' respective professors give them some 'friendly advice' (aka "go here now, no exceptions") to start out at Drymos, lol.
Thanks! At least not everyone thinks I'm a horrible GM, lol. Quite honestly, nobody has ever really given me feedback. :x I've GMed . . . four things, I believe. None of them went well. LIL actually lasted the longest of all of them, I think. ._.; -
June 2nd, 2013 5:04 PMGrif of HeartsFrance is just fancy enough for it to work. <3
That'd be so unbelievably adorable! Munchlax would also make sense. Speaking of Pokémon on island that aren't their type, I imagine Caterpie or something could be found on the bird island. They need something to eat, after all.
Maybe it could be much the same as the original map, although I swap Drymos and the grass island around so that Drymos is right by Kentrik. It can keep its different routes, but the players are told that the other routes are blocked until they get enough badges so the only route to go is to Drymos?
I only left because of technical issues! You did fine, darling. -
June 2nd, 2013 4:22 PMNakuzamiIt would be logical to give it a starring role, and France does seem very fairy-like. ;3
Good. d:
I kind of want to have Teddiursa, Pancham and Cubchoo on my team. A versatile little bear team. ;D And . . . you make an interesting point. I'll keep that in mind, perhaps for Munchlax too, lol.
Fitting 649 + however many are in Gen VI pokemon into one roleplay could be difficult, lol. Perhaps I won't have them all, or in some places I'll give the roleplayers a little leeway, or just have them make little requests in the OOC and I'll add them in when I see fit.
Right after Kentrik, yes. d:
I'm glad to hear you miss it, lol. I quite honestly thought it bombed. Well, not the roleplayers, my GMing skills with it.
Yeah, go with that! d: -
June 2nd, 2013 4:04 PMGrif of HeartsExactly. They both got their chances to shine! I hope that Fairy would too (the new type is even more of a reason to get the endlessly adorable Mawile).
...I think I will.
Teddiursa is adorable. I love it to pieces, and I think I'll keep it as a Teddiursa until my team needs some serious firepower. Considering the bug-type island contains Combee, which produce honey, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they lived on Drymos. :3
I'll move it somewhere else then! I think I might have an idea what to do. Do you want the insect island to be the first island for /everyone/?
I'm fine waiting. I don't want to force you to rush anything. I'm just quite excited, t'is all. I miss the roleplay.
Maybe man-made was the wrong word... but it doesn't look quite natural. As you said, it's bizarre. There's clearly been something messing around with the island's layout. -
June 2nd, 2013 2:56 PMNakuzamiSame here, lol. If they do add new types, I would hope they would be showcased. Dark got showcased in Gen II's Elite 4, and Jasmine's Steel-typed gym was fairly late in the game as well.
Pokemon Tower Defense 2. It's a fun game. You should look it up, lol.
I love Teddiursa myself, so I can't argue with you there. d: And, um . . . *peeks back at the map* sure, why not? All of the roleplayers will be heading there for Arena Medal numero uno, at the very least.
I do when I'm at my mom's, but I don't really like staying here all that often over the summer, lol. So long as you're willing to wait! //youhavenochoice
I don't think it should look oddly man-made for a Psychic-type island . . . perhaps just odd, lol. -
June 2nd, 2013 2:28 PMGrif of HeartsSorry. x) I just rather hope that the new rumoured type, Fairy, is a late game gym, assuming it's going to be added in.
Playing what-now? O.o
Stantler and Teddiursa have always been personal favourites of mine, and Slowbro's a recent obsession. I just find that starting team rather appealing... if Drymos was meant to be an early-game thing, do you want me to move it to somewhere more accessible?
Yeah, I suppose you have a point there. I forgot you didn't have access to a decent computer. Oh well, whenever you feel up for it is good for me!
I'm sure I can come up with something to make it interesting. ^.^ Maybe some terrain features that look oddly man-made? -
June 2nd, 2013 2:19 PMNakuzamiOne in each gen, huh? Yeah, now that I think about it, lol. Johto itself doesn't have one, but there's still Cerulean in Johto games, huh? Well then. Plus, gen III had water as the final gym. . . . Now I'm even more disappointed in Marlon. >.>;
Well, I like Jolteon anyways, lol. The main reason I checked its moveset was because I was playing Pokemon Tower Defense 2. d;
That's an interesting team, to say the least. Hmm. . . . But, if you do go for Yanmega, you can probably get Yanma fairly early on, considering I wanted everyone to go to Drymos Island first.
Well, more information will continue to filter in, and if I don't have a computer this summer then I may have to wait until September regardless. :C
. . . not really. ._.; Nothing that you can draw on the map, at least. I forgot what that island's Guardian is, and I haven't made the altars yet . . . um . . . //talking about things you don't yet know about -
June 2nd, 2013 12:32 PMGrif of HeartsYes, water's a little boring now. We've had plenty of water gyms (one in each generation, in fact). I guess I'll do the rematches, yes.
But it's okay with Jolteon, because it already has a terrible moveset. ;D I just looked up Onix and it does have a really bizarre movetset change. It all makes sense, but it's such a massive snake.
Although not set in stone;
Stantler, Slowbro, and Ursaring so far. Tempted to try and get Yanmega too.
Honestly? I think you'll be waiting a while. That's all the way in October, and I can't wait that long. D;
Also, not sure how to make the psychic type island interesting. Any suggestions? -
June 2nd, 2013 12:10 PMNakuzamiPfft
Yeah, but there's always rematches, I suppose? I dunno, lol. It's disappointing that she's so early and Marlon is so late.
I guess so. I mainly noticed when I looked at Jolteon's moves and realized he learns half of them twenty levels earlier in BW2 than in BW, and Onix's moveset is completely switched around, lol.
Yes, but he's a rock snake. No more reason to do so than Magmar. d:
And what might that be? d;
I've been debating holding the roleplay off until Gen VI is officially out, letting us utilize those pokemon as well. -
June 2nd, 2013 11:27 AMGrif of HeartsYou're welcome. <3
Roxie's fun. It's a shame she's an early gym leader, since I enjoy Poison and I loved Koga's gym. I would have liked to have seen her with some tougher Pokémon. I fought her with a Magby and a Magnemite. :3
They did modify the moves, similar to what they did in Yellow and Platinum. Seems like they do it a lot in the third edition of a game.
Onix is quite serpentine though, so he's fairly dragon-like.
Speaking of which, I've already been planning out a team for the remake of LIL. ^_^ -
June 2nd, 2013 11:06 AMNakuzamiWELL THANKS FOR THAT! xD
I want to be able to see Roxie. ;w; I've never played the games, but I managed to fall in love with Roxie when I still knew her as Homika, lol.
I've also noticed that level-up moves got overhauled between BW and BW2.
I suppose that would make sense, lol, and it's not that odd considering pokemon like Onix can learn Dragonbreath. d: -
June 2nd, 2013 10:19 AMGrif of HeartsDaww. You're still a newbie to me. <3
They're good games. I love how they added so many more Pokémon to the region from previous generations. It's also the first time I've tried a new tactic, which is swapping out Pokémon every so often so I can try new ones, rather than just running with the same six for the whole game. I'm even using Escavalier, a Pokémon I never even considered using before.
I want him to learn dragon-breath, honestly.
