April 9th, 2016 8:03 AMSheepSpoiler:The unhealthy obsession with Satoru made me shudder even more than that car scene with him and Yashiro... urgh. But yes, it was very good and definitely my favorite scene of the series. Beautifully-animated with some seriously eerie facial expressions on Yashiro himself. Did you read through the manga version? I skimmed the final chapters to get a feel for how different it ended up being and liked that version a bit; wish Airi would've had a tiny bit more screentime though like she did there since she's my favorite and I'm slightly biased... haha.

April 8th, 2016 4:08 PMNinaSpoiler:I was a little curious, but they did three of those bait and switch scenes so I stopped trying to guess. First with Yuuki getting twitchy when Kayo was mentioned, that reporter friend of his mother having red eyes when talking to Satoru, and then what you mentioned with Yashiro. I just wasn't trying to figure it out anymore.
But YO, that scene where he opens it for candy and it's not there, even if you can get the warning signs before it happens, OOOOO. Shivers! It was very good.

((It's worse than a crush, it became an obsession! 15 years of waiting and...

I can't tell if he was about to kill him or try to shave his face.)) -
April 8th, 2016 8:21 AMSheepSpoiler:I was always curious to know who the killer was and although in the back of my head I knew it'd be Yashiro I was really, really hoping it would end up being someone else. They had that one scene which almost painted him as the villain when Satoru, his mom, and him were in the car which ended up being false suspense.. so for a while I assumed all suspicion was taken off of him. But then the production staff pulled a clever little act and put him back in the 'spotlight' from where my heart sank. All I'd wanted was for him to be that nice teacher I assumed he was at the start.
But oh maaan I was going to read up on the manga or at least a summary on his character before I made any judgments. That's.. a very creepy past (that I'm sure they'd have had to censor to an extent if it were in the anime haha) and clears up a lot of his psychological issues. If we were able to squeeze just a few more episodes out of the show things would have added up a lot more naturally. There were things I was happy with -- like how the others were able to move on and live their lives without Satoru being there as their 'hero', like you said -- but Yashiro's sudden reappearance and Satoru's sudden regaining his memory was very abrupt.
..but I'll take what I can get. The episodes leading up until the ending were very, very good, even if they set standards for the ending very high.
((Yashiro clearly has a crush on Satoru. Let's face it!!))
