Nope, which is one of the downsides to it. I wish it was possible though.

definitely sounds more appealing! can the 3DS and Wii U versions play against each other?

Unlike most people, I actually like the Wii U version better, since it has a lot more stuff in it than the 3DS version, as well as the better graphics, and I find that smash tour is rather enjoyable. Also, the 3DS version and Wii U version can connect to each other as well, so the 3DS can be used as a controller for the Wii U version. There's even some music in the game that's from games that haven't even been released yet, such as Yoshi's Wooly World.

ohhhh sweet, people told me they liked the 3DS version better and more people play that one iirc but.. it's something that I'd much rather play on a bigger screen, I think! Better graphics, more enjoyable, and etc

Yep, for one thing, the Wii U version is much bigger and has a lot more trophies, more challenges, more stages, and more music than the 3DS version. It has 8-player smash, events and smash tour.

As much as the latest Smash felt rather interesting to me when I got it, I really haven't played it for months. The Wii U one is more interesting than the 3DS one, but even so... I haven't played that one for months either.

The 3DS is awesome! I'm like the only one who doesn't like Smash though, I swearrrr.

I do have an original 3DS XL, but I've rarely used it. The only times I've played it is when I played New Super Mario Bros. 2 when it came out here in Australia.

I think it's cause most people buy the XL anyway so it's a better move for them financially as a business. But we'll see! I'll probably get the XL anyway too, since it's nicer to have a bigger screen~

It might eventually come to the US, maybe they haven't planned to release the covers into the US yet, rendering it useless to release the regular New 3DS in the US yet.

Indeed. The regular New 3DS that I have has changeable covers. And I do have an alternate cover for it too, which is that Mario Items one.
