Aha third person would definitely be super annoying. XD; And ahh that was the exact same issue with me! I became a moderator on that forum and became embarrassed of acting that way so I resigned, took a break for about a year, and came back a better person because of it. It's embarrassing but an experience nonetheless, I might still be immature if it wasn't for that.
I can totally relate that to myself, except the abusing of smiles. Back in the other forums I've joined, I acted a bit immature and I was trying to seek attention (even today, I have this tendency to do that, but I have more control now... well, yeah).
More than that, I started speaking in third-person, such as "Student thinks that there's something wrong with it" yet I'm the one saying that. The only time did I realize that I was being weird was after I became a moderator in that forum. Ah, such unusual memories I had. :D
It was pretty bad haha. v_v I would post the way I thought people liked rather than actually being myself, abused really stupid smileys since I was trying to copy the popular people at the time (on another forum), and basically just acted childish and assumed people were out to get me. Thankfully things are soo much different now since I came to that realization 1.5 years ago. xD;
