December 10th, 2009 2:49 PMMisheard WhisperI'm not looking forward to it, eue. >_<
Idk, I just expected it to be, y'know, safe. @
I don't know about that. The main character in Negima! was ten when it started, and he's still ten after 273 chapters. :3 -
December 10th, 2009 2:28 PMAyano KatagiriOh, Cambridge. Yeah, that will be quite a handful.
I had a flick through and yeah, it's quite a lot more ero than I had expected.. :\ Isn't "Safebooru" just the same thing with the non-functional filtering system?
Harem comedies can only last so long, most of them tend to be school based I think so I wouldn't be surprised at them finishing with the end of graduation. -
December 9th, 2009 10:46 PMMisheard WhisperYup, stings. I have six NCEA subjects at various levels, and three of them include Cambridge. >_<
Ecchi is a really soft word for the crap you find on Danbooru. My juvenile mind is forever tainted by some of those images . . . Ironically, Safebooru isn't much safer. @ idk.
I noticed that most of the longer ones seem to be shounen and/or sports mangas. Why aren't there any super-long-term serialised shoujo harem comedies!? *cries* -
December 9th, 2009 10:07 PMAyano KatagiriWhoa, that many already?
Haha, that was the same with me when I did English. xD
That's a pretty silly way of doing things, especially without advising in advance. :\
I don't actually use Danbooru, but I'm assuming you're referring to the ecchi etc?
It's really only the classic mainstream manga that have managed to survive this long, but then again with 4komas, I'm pretty sure you could get thousands of chapters if the author felt up to drawing that much. -
December 9th, 2009 11:21 AMMisheard WhisperOuch . . . nasty. I'm gonna have *counts* nine next year, I believe.
My English teacher seems to like me, so I seem to get some fairly good marks. :3
It's the same with everything at my school; they don't tell us things. I missed out on the camp I wanted to go on because they didn't tell us that they were filling up slots as forms were handed in. We assumed that they'd tally them up afterwards, but no. :( So I handed mine in on the day before it was due, and I didn't get to go to Wellington.
Haven't heard of shuushuu. I'll have to check that out. Danbooru has a fair bit, but it's, um . . . Danbooru, y'know? ~_~;;;
There aren't many manga that long. mangafox only has five with more than 500 chapters, although there are some - like Naruto and Bleach - that aren't far away and will doubtless reach it eventually. @ -
December 9th, 2009 1:57 AMAyano KatagiriI guess it's only bad if you have over 10 exams, like I did this year. ._.
I think with essays, it's really difficult to satisfy every person's tastes and view (unless of course, you're a superb writer!). I found that even though one teacher marking it may say it's good, others could say it's not simply because they have their own little criteria that they personally like to see in essays.
I'm pretty sure I waffle a lot too! xD I seem to fill pages unnecessarily for discussion questions. ;3
With field trips I can kind of imagine happening if they weren't big ones, but even then three days is a bit too short.
I was actually thinking of shuushuu, but Danbooru could have more.
In contrast, I have too much to watch. ._. I'm almost over my monthly cap... Why can't they have cheap unlimited plans here? >_<
270 is a lot. O.O I think the longest one I'm keeping with has 500+ and is still going. -
December 9th, 2009 12:20 AMMisheard WhisperThat's what everyone says, so I guess it will.
In one way, I don't mind them seeing as I'm pretty good at English, but I don't like them (especially in History) because they involve remembering lots of stuff, and my memory is shockingly poor. I wrote a three and a half page essay in my mock History exam and only mentioned three names (I couldn't remember any others). I still got Excellence. Teachers say my essays are good. Other students say my essays are full of crap, and I suppose they're right. I have a tendency to waffle on about insignificant details that make it sound like I know what I'm talking about, when really I have no idea, but it takes up half a page anyway~! ^_^
Well, my school is hardly stellar when it comes to telling us things ahead of time. I keep finding out about field trips three days before they happen, if that. :/ One of them even got cancelled the day before, for some very vague reasons. *shakes fist at Mr Leach*
I swear if you say Danbooru I will-
Ah, mk. I'll definitely read it, then. Looks quite good.
I have too much to read; it's gonna eat my broadband allowance. ): And I just managed to get sucked in to rereading Mahou Sensei Negima, which has 270+ chapters. T_T -
December 8th, 2009 11:50 PMAyano KatagiriYou'll get used to it and then it won't be as bad.
I hate writing essays, especially during exams since they always turn out to be brain-dumps for me.
Really? We were told at the start of the year that there was going to be a change, but they weren't sure what kind of change until term 3.
I know where to find loads of Miku fanart, but I haven't seen many renders.
Yeah, it's supposed to be listed under that, but it's just called railgun in the anime and by a lot of other sites now.
But that's good! xD Because otherwise once you catch up then you have to wait for the weekly or sometimes monthly releases. ;_; -
December 8th, 2009 8:19 PMMisheard WhisperI certainly hope it gets better. This year was awful. :/
Essays, schmessays. I eat 'em for breakfast.
But nobody told us they were doing that! It caught me completely off guard!
*grumble* There aren't enough Miku renders on the internet anyway.
Ah, that's why I couldn't find it when I searched 'Railgun'. Mangafox has it listed as 'To Aru Kagaku no Choudenjibou'. I'll definitely read that, then.
*sigh* My list of manga to read is piling up . . . Bleach, Death Note, Railgun, Naruto . . . not to mention keeping up with Mahou Sensei Negima and Hayate no Gotoku etc . . .
Who am I kidding, I love it. :3 -
December 8th, 2009 8:12 PMAyano KatagiriFirst year going through it all is usually the worst part. After that, everyone just gets used to it and gets on with it (well, except maybe those who have done absolutely no study).
I think History is placed under the artsy subject, it's pretty much all essay writing in the end though.
Oh yes, the papers full of Excellence questions seem to have become a recurring theme in many subjects. All of my four Biology papers were like that and it was just a nightmare to complete. :\
I think Planetrenders stopped updating a number of its sections some time ago.. I could never find anything recent that I wanted.
Yup, the anime was adapted from the manga of the same name. I'd recommend the manga, it's better than the anime imo, though Mikoto's railguns in the anime are pretty badass. -
December 8th, 2009 7:58 PMMisheard WhisperYeah, I'm in what you'd call the 10A class, urgh. End of year is evil, even though I seem to be immune to the nerves that strike most of my peers. :3
I'm ditching Science next year. Maths is going to be my only non-artsy (does History count as artsy?) subject from now on. English, Maths, History, Classics, Spanish and Drama.
Proxime Accessit is pretty damn good. o_o And they changed the format at lower levels, too. I opened my Science exam the other week, only to find it full of Excellence questions. I was like 'WTF IS THIS? DDDDD:'
Hmm, photobucket seems to have more renders than planetrenders. I found that one while trawling. :3
Ah, it's Misaka again. I should watch that . . . is it a manga, too? Reading it would be preferable . . .
XD -
December 8th, 2009 7:41 PMAyano KatagiriI know what you mean, we have a similar system but only the 10A class have to go through the whole set of exams. The workload at the end of the year is just ridiculous (even if it is mainly exams rather than learning).
That's good, congrats on the marks. I wished I could have done a wider range of subjects, I limited myself to the sciences and maths after Year 11. Drama seemed to get a lot more interesting afterwards.
I'm sure you'll be fine. :D Me? Well, mocks weren't as good as I had hoped. I did average by my standards and made too many little errors that cost me Dux of the College. I ended up Proxime Accessit, which I guess isn't so bad. However, the real exams were horrible. The way they changed the marking schedule at Level 3 is probably going to drag a few of my subjects down. Scholarship exams were so-so, I think I might have just missed Outstanding in 4 of them which is slightly annoying.
It's a nice avatar. ^^ The expression's really cute. The one in mine is my current username. Misaka Mikoto from To Aru Kagaku no Railgun, which I must admit, I'm pretty obsessed with at the moment.
Ah, alt accounts. xD Okay, I'll try to keep that in mind. -
December 8th, 2009 7:18 PMMisheard WhisperI had mocks and then real as well. It's been hectic. :/ Specifically because, well:
HBHS has three sets of exams. One, mock exams. Two, junior exams, and three, senior exams, in that order. Normal senior students get a break between mocks and senior exams, but because I'm still technically a junior, I don't get that break, seeing as I have to take junior English, Spanish and Drama. So u_u
I did well, though. A Merit in Drama (because half of the class failed, the teacher bumped it up to an A on my report (which still doesn't use the NCEA system. idky.) He gave us a three-hour exam to do in one hour, and I was one of about three people that finished it. XD) Spanish was a bunch of M's and E's, and I got 95% in English. Third from top of the year. /o/
Sorry, I've run away with myself again. Still waiting on History, Science and Maths results. *crosses fingers* How did yours go?
Yup, still into Miku. The avatar's just a placeholder, until I can engineer a better one. I'm curious, though, as to who the person in yours is.
And if you get random VMs from http://www.pokecommunity.com/member.php?u=177802]this person, don't worry. It's just my alt; I often forget which account I'm logged into. ^_^;;; So sorry in advance if that happens. -
December 8th, 2009 7:07 PMAyano KatagiriHey, how was exams? Sorry I ended up not replying.. I had mocks and then the real thing one after another. o.o
I see you're still into Miku, that avatar is pretty awesome. :3 -
October 10th, 2009 10:33 PMMisheard WhisperThat's the problem experts have when they battle less experienced players. They assume their opponent knows the system as well as they do, so they act accordingly.
I'm ditching Science at the end of this year. I'm top in yr 11 for Maths, tho.
