February 9th, 2010 8:05 PMDukeySevens is really awesome, it's something I'd love to do if there was a friday night competition on or something. I was watching the 7"s World Cup earlier in the year, England's wingers are like, o.o;
Donald was only playing while Carter was playing in France, but they had McCalister at centre for a few games, and I don't think he's a better pick than Nonu. -
February 9th, 2010 5:58 PMAyano KatagiriEven so, Wellington's best rugby event is undoubtedly the Rugby Sevens. The size doesn't affect the crowds that turn out.
I don't really like that concept, partially because I don't think Steven Donald is up to test level at 10. We already have a strong centre combination and Carter shouldn't be playing out of the position he's best at. -
February 8th, 2010 7:44 PMDukeyYeah, I went over there on a rugby tour with my representative team a few years back, and wellington was pretty small so.
I think NZ should give up on the two fly halves tactic that seems to have caught on, Nonu is really a key in any game, and too good to not be using.
Also, with the new ruck law, meaning that even the tackler has to roll away before attacking the ball, McCaw won't be as effective at the breakdown. -
February 8th, 2010 2:00 PMAyano KatagiriYeah. :\ Considering the stand capacity there, that was their only way of making money I think. NZ's stadiums are just too small.
Yeah, it's the new rookies like that who are going to propel Australia into the later rounds of the world cup. If I remember right, he's the one who was eligible to play for all three Tri-Nation teams? -
January 29th, 2010 9:10 PMDukeyHoly shhhi.
Haha, if only we had Deans before the last world cup, but yeah, imo James O'Connor is the key to Australia's world cup chances, he barely got a run the whole tour last year & I'd been dying for him to get a run, they put him on in the dying minutes of the scotland game, first touch of the ball he runs 40m breaking 2 or 3 tackles, which basically set them up for the try. -
January 29th, 2010 8:55 PMAyano KatagiriThe tickets for the finals aren't on sale yet I don't think, but it's over $1000 for the best seats at Eden Park iirc.
I think given the age of most of the new players and the talent, if they get enough gametime together then Australia's chance at winning the next world cup could be very high. Which would be a huge blow to us then seeing as Robbie Deans will still be at the helm. xD -
January 29th, 2010 8:45 PMDukeyHaha, dw about it.
I'd love to fly over for the grand final, but yeah I'm broke xD
Yeah, the Wales match was definately the best they've played in a long time, apart from when they beat SA, and even though Wales lost Shane Williams a few minutes in :/
We missed Barnes on that tour. -
January 29th, 2010 8:42 PMAyano KatagiriYeah, the minor/smaller teams. Sorry, bit of slang thrown in. xD
I'm definitely going to try getting to a few, it's just annoying that some tickets are ridiculously expensive to help generate enough revenue.
I only saw the highlights for that match, but yeah, wasn't the best I've seen from the Wallabies. -
January 29th, 2010 8:38 PMDukeyminnow? Minor? xD But yeah, I'll be picking a team in each pool for the world cup too.
You gonna go to any of the WC games?
And yeah, that scotland game was so nerve racking :/
Rocky Elsom scored though, and Giteua fails at kicking xD -
January 29th, 2010 8:35 PMAyano KatagiriYup. ^^ Well, I will support the minnow teams at the World Cup next year too..
It's a shame that a few of the games didn't go so well for the Wallabies last year, I certainly wasn't expecting Scotland to win that. -
January 29th, 2010 8:27 PMDukeyLive in New Zealand obviously xD
I'm a Waratahs supporter for S14, got a stadium membership so yeah, international obviously the wallabies, went to see them play in the grand slam games the end of last year over in the uk. -
January 29th, 2010 8:13 PMAyano KatagiriI support the Crusaders and Hurricanes for the S14, mainly because of where I am and the players in the teams. Internationally would be the ABs of course. How about you?
-
January 29th, 2010 6:48 PMDukeyYeah, but it is harder though, since the teams are more even and not dominated by star players.
So who do you support? -
January 29th, 2010 5:40 PMAyano KatagiriI see, so more accurate rather than difficult.
-
January 29th, 2010 2:44 AMDukeyNot so much more difficult, but more fun, the teams are more even cause there are less of the star players, since most of them retired, but some get replaced by others like Francois Steyn replaces Montgomery & Nonu replaces Tana Umaga etc
