January 5th, 2017 12:18 AMLinyitAlright, then (:
-
January 2nd, 2017 10:15 PMAquacordeNo, no, not really haha. More like themes and ideas are v similar across the board, especially for fantasy authors who really got started on fantasy with LotR.
-
January 2nd, 2017 6:38 AMLinyitThat sounds interesting, didn't know that. So would I theorethically read a book full of spoilers for other books? xD
-
December 31st, 2016 2:47 PMAquacordeIt's also pretty cool because Tolkien is where a LOT of authors take ideas from so once you read LotR you can see it all over the place.
-
December 31st, 2016 12:47 AMLinyitI see xD I'm not a fan of long-form stuff, but fantasy I can live with (: Maybe I'll give it a try someday.
-
December 30th, 2016 1:33 PMAquacordeThey're pretty good but you kinda really gotta be into fantasy/high fantasy/long-form stuff to really appreciate it? They're not a casual franchise haha.
-
December 30th, 2016 12:17 PMLinyitSo you've gotten really early into Lord of the Rings, I guess :p I heard the films are good, but I can't get myself to watch or read anything nowadays :D
-
December 30th, 2016 9:58 AMAquacordeI read them when I was like. Actually way too young to get them really? I was 10-ish. I really do enjoy them but they're kind of a hard read. :P
-
December 30th, 2016 4:22 AMLinyitYeah, those were also pretty awesome. I liked reading those fanfics, too. Tbh I actually never watched/read The Lord of the Rings :p
-
December 29th, 2016 1:40 PMAquacordeI tend to like inteospective/chracter pieces and "missing scene" type fics a lot? I've been reading a lot of those for Lord of the Rings lately :>
-
December 29th, 2016 11:56 AMLinyitOh, I see. Then theres no harm done imo. Writing and reading good fanfics can help to develop your own creativity or writing skills at that age, just like normal books. Don't you worry, I was actually never interested in those NC-17, but they were like everywhere on the site and being on the site a lot, one could guess what people read xD
I liked the funny/silly fanfictions or parodies, but its been a while since I last read one. -
December 29th, 2016 11:35 AMAquacordeOh I do! I read fics all the time and write occasionally. I actually love fanfiction overall- just, I didn't need to be reading NC-17 works when I was 10 xD;
-
December 29th, 2016 11:21 AMLinyitOh god x'D
I know what you're getting at, sis ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Same harm was done to me when I was 14. (you were 10, though, thats tough xD) I still remember reading those anime fanfics and also writing some by myself. I never was good with romance though, always went for humour or adventure. But I can say fanfiction at some point ruined my mind for some years :D Do you still read or write any? just curious :p -
December 29th, 2016 9:29 AMAquacordeno the harm came when i discovered fanfiction as a 10yo lmaooo
-
December 29th, 2016 12:50 AMLinyitSo thats how it is, playing RunScape and such won't do any harm, I guess: P I also had my moments as a 10 years old with the Game Boy. The internet came three years later and welp, I remember playing similar mmos haha.
Thank you!
