July 19th, 2010 8:43 AMCherrimIf you don't mind taking this to PM (to keep it confidential), I'd like to hear more about your experiences with the mods. :/ If we don't hear reports of mods acting unruly or upsetting members (along with links to where it happened, exactly who it was, etc.), we really can't do anything about it.
Sometimes it's just a case of a mod having too much to do and snapping at the member who just happened to ask the same question one too many times and in isolated cases like that, we don't really do much but ask them to tone it down but if it's something that happens a lot, the more we hear about it, the sooner we can do something about it. -
July 19th, 2010 8:35 AMamisterluxHonestly at this point, it's not really about the blogs or any of the other perks that "normal" members are not entitled to. I am more concerned with the fact that you really can't do anything on this site without getting a unhelpful or rude response from someone, and 9 times out of 10 it's from one of your "hand-selected" moderators. I don't mind negative feedback or responses from people, I could honestly care less. But it was my understanding that people are selected to be mods on here so they can help manage the site and help other users...maybe you should be a tad more selective. Either way, this is not my site and you guys are free to do whatever you like, it just sucks because when I found this site I thought it was really awesome and I enjoyed logging on, but it seems like the longer I am a member the more issues I have with this site...and I really don't think it is me just being hard to please. Once again, I am not trying to insult you or be rude by no means, but the thought of you selecting immature 15 year olds to be mods on here and give them special privileges when there are other people who are clearly more qualified to be a mod and quite honestly would be a hell of a lot better at it just pisses me off. You don't have to listen to anything that I have said, but I am a member of your site and I am giving you honest feedback. I hope you are not offended, if you are, I am truly sorry. But at this rate I will be deleting my account soon anyways, so you won't have to put up with me much longer anyways.
Sincerely,
Lux -
July 19th, 2010 8:19 AMCherrimI actually shut it down simply because there are a lot of idiots who will keep replying with the same "these are the three ways to get a blog" or repeating "if you don't like it, deal with it" lines. D: It had nothing to do with your feedback, your response, or anything.
We do get complaints periodically from people who won't/can't donate and still want blogs but I tell them the same thing I told you. We just aren't offering them to everyone right now. Who knows, maybe down the line we will but for now, it's supporters, staff, and dedicated posters only. You aren't the first to ask about it, nor are you the first to get a negative answer. I didn't close your thread as a personal offense. Merely for efficiency so people won't keep replying needlessly. -
July 19th, 2010 8:06 AMamisterluxSo is that how things are handled around here...if someone says something the mods don't like, even if it is clearly not breaking any rules, you just shut it down? I don't mean to be rude or anything but I had a legitimate question...Isn't that what the "Questions and Feedback" threads are for?
