Merry late Christmas to you too. Yeah, I've seen the Superman movie trailer and am hoping that it'll be awesome. Zack Snyder is a great comic book adapter. Watchmen and 300 were great. My only concern is that he may not be able to make a movie of his own; I heard that Sucker Punch was terrible.
Wow, I actually didn't think of it that way!..brilliant!
At least that would have been a better reason for that mask he wears!
I also read that the dude that plays bane has alot of tatoos on his arms...and that they used CGI to remove them....well, if they are able to do that, then they could easily go with your idea and use CGI to increase his muscle mass!
Also love the Harley Quinn idea...thats the same story from Arkham city...although maybe in the fans minds, she isn't perceived as a big enough villain for the final movie?
I actually think that there was a pretty simple solution to the whole Bane having powers thing. Why not make the venom drug be able to trigger an adrenaline trip? Adrenaline allows for humans to temporarily become inhumanly strong, fast, or what have you in real life as evidenced by that woman who flipped the car off of her child or that guy that jumped the twenty foot creek. Plus, they needed to fix that stupid voice and make Bane the main villain and not Talia's lackey. In the comics Bane was drawn to Gotham city after hearing about the Batman in prison. His motives were to kill this legendary figure and take over his city (something he was successful at.) He wasn't anyone's lackey, in fact he had lackeys. I also think that it was a mistake to have Batman stop being Batman the night after Harvey died. It was also stupid how one piece of legislation stopped crime. The movie should have taken place late in the Batman's career where he had beaten all of the villains we know and love (Riddler, Poison Ivy, Clayface, Mr. Freeze etc.) and finally has to face the ultimate villain in Bane. If not that then why not Harley Quinn as a main villain? Those are my thoughts.
I think Nolan's choice had alot more to do with publicity and money than with good storytelling.
Bane became hugely popular because of the "knightfall" storyline in the comics....I mean he was the ONLY villain to really beat batman and truely break him.....that storyline in the comics is what really boosted Batman's popularity...and Nolan chose Bane as his villain to capitalize on that.
I can still remember the endless chats I saw on the internet and amongst friends etc, about whether Nolan would include the knightfall storyline...about whether he would let bane break Batman's back.....it created a HUGE buzz before the movie and I think that was the point.....He couldn't just rely on Joker...and he knew that Bane wouldn't draw people on his own...so he used the storyline to draw people in.
The Knightfall storyline with Batman is on the same level as the "Doomsday" storyline with superman...It was created for shock value...because we are soo used to seeing them win...what if they lost? died? or got crippled for life?.....Excellent marketting choice...poor story choice
1989 Batman...Jack Nicholsen did an awesome job..plus it was the first time I heard about jokers backstory....but I think it's better when we don't know where joker came from or why he does what he does...it just makes him more mysterious and darker, but still...that was a great movie..
LOL Batman returns...the penguin..eating raw fish..that was their idea of a "dark movie"...catwoman was hot though...but they took the "cat" part of it a little tooo seriously...same with the penguin....I prefer the penguin from the game arkham city..and the catwoman from the game too.
Batman forever wasn't bad..but wasn't good....Val Kilmer was an average batman but a terrible bruce wayne...and as for Jim carrey...no comment
OK Batman and Robin....I still get pissed off when I think about it....BatNIPPLES?...BatASS?....BAtcredit card?....I have such a hard time believing that it's the same George Clooney from Oceans 11...everyone and everything let me down in this movie...I gave up hope LOL
Batman Begins I actually enjoyed it in the first half hour to 45 mins...but it got to a point where I'm like...OK I GET IT...CAN I SEE BATMAN NOW?...can he hide that constipated look behind the cape and cowl already?.....LMAO someone said the BATvoice..sounds like throat cancer lol
Dark Knight....Holy crap on a cracker!! I love this movie....Heath Legder pulled this one out of magic...when I first watched it....I did so without any news about the cast or without watching a single trailor..I actually had no idea that it was heath ledger and I refused to believe my friends when they said it was him lol...awesome awesome movie....I love the parts where he keeps changing his origin story depending on his moods...that in my opinion shows how fractured his mind is...
Dark knight rises....LOL BANES VOICE....every single time he spoke I lol'ed...my dad thought I was watching a comedy....but I did enjoy the last 20 mins of the movie and the part where bruce escapes the prison..also I love the soundtrack in the last 20 mins..from the moment where the cops march slowly down the street....
STILL, the problem is....there are certain comics and cartoons and characters that can ONLY be shown in a fantasy/comic book setting...these characters where created to be over the top and SHOULD not be made "realistic" because it just doesn't work....in my mind Nolan RAPED BANE....Bane is meant to be a TITAN filled rage monster...thats the whole point of him in the comics.....Nolan could have choosen among soooo many villains if he wanted his "realisitic" approach..how about the riddler?....
Still, I won't say I hated it...but I didn't love it either..
Yeah, I mean don't get me wrong, the Joker is my favorite Batman villain but it seems that every Batman movie without him either disgusts me in Joel Shuelmacker's (I didn't spell that right) case, or bores me to death in Nolan's case.
I think that Nolan and Tim Burton did a great job each in their own right with their movies with the Joker, but Burton got weird with the second movie and Nolan sacrifices quality in an attempt to make a "smart" film with his other Batman films.
My opinions of the batman films are as follows.
Batman 1989: MIND BLOWN!!!
Batman Returns: WTF did I just watch?
Batman Forever: Is this the sixties TV show I'm watching or what?
Batman and Robin: BAT CREDIT CARD!!! (Nostalgia Critic reference.) But seriously I went for the bleach.
Batman Begins: I am bored out of my skull and it's pretentious but Katie Holmes is hot.
The Dark Knight: MIND BLOWN AGAIN!!!
The Dark Knight Rises: This film seriously ticked me off because my second favorite villain in the Batman comics Bane was the main villain and he was done horribly. Everything from his stupid voice, to his unimposing presence, to his out of character motives just grinds my gears. I wanted to see Bane done seriously in a serious movie and it finally happened and was done terribly. Plus the rest of the movie was just boring.
All of that was just my personal opinion and not fact as different people like different things but yeah.
That's true!....Batman forever and that crap with George Clooney in it mad me want to drink bleach....
So far, in my opinion, Christopher Nolan did the best job in portraying Bats :-)
LOL for the Joker....I think it's because of the era we live in....people these days take a liking to either the ''anti-hero" or "the funny bad guy".....I was actually cheering for joker in the Dark knight lol.
In comparison, Bane and Scarecrow are "typical" bad guys....it's sad but true...it doesn't matter how good any other villain is...once you throw in the Joker, you got a classic....
SHEESH!!, even girls these days like the bad boy with good jokes LOL
