August 4th, 2014 8:03 PMCyclonePosted a suggestion for the Champion position. As the Champion has defeated the league before, but because there can only be one Champion, the Champion completely steps down should (s)he be defeated (by someone who in turn becomes the Champion, no Gym position, etc.) and can, after a set period of time (a league rule at the outset), can challenge again to be the Champion. The only time a Champion can be directly challenged is by a former Champion, and adjustments can be made to the challenger's team. If the challenger loses, the preset time resets and they must wait again to be eligible. If the challenger wins, they immediately reclaim the role of Champion in the League.
If a Champion becomes idle and stops participating, (s)he is retired as if having lost. Either the previous Champion can immediately step up or a new default Champion named from someone beating the League (you can decide this rule).
Anyone in a Gym or E4 position cannot be Champion. You must relinquish the role and defeat the league and existing Champion (meaning I can move to the E4 by whatever rules govern that, being a challenge battle, etc., but I cannot directly challenge the Champion). This includes former Champions taking a role in the league; during this time (s)he cannot he Champion, but upon leaving the League position can rechallenge the E4 immediately and go from there to challenging the Champion. Exceptions can be made if someone is needed to fill in temporarily somewhere.
Thoughts? It's in the thread as well, though not in this much detail. -
August 4th, 2014 7:16 PMCycloneNot a problem. I did two or three batches of Eggs yesterday and got a 6IV Exeggcute. I can repeat my luck. Even so, just under 50% of the time I should nail the 31 in Attack (in the cases where Attack is not chosen, everything else will be 31 and nothing will be said about Attack), so I'll get something with a 31 sooner or later in a batch or two.

August 4th, 2014 7:06 PMPolar SpectrumAwww, the missing one was attack? That's rotten luck.
-
August 4th, 2014 7:05 PMCycloneI do have good news, however. My female result of combining the moves was bred and got a 5IV on the first shot. I'm going for 6IV. Or at least for a better Attack IV than 0.

August 4th, 2014 7:03 PMPolar SpectrumHah - yeah true dat. Mega Poke Problems. "I want a held item... but then I can't use my mega...."
And mega absol is pretty dang sweet. -
August 4th, 2014 6:55 PMCycloneYou know what? Forget the Wide Lens. Otherwise it cannot Mega Evolve.
-
August 4th, 2014 6:49 PMCycloneExactly. :)
And Ferraligator is Ghost. Move on from there. -
August 4th, 2014 6:33 PMPolar SpectrumMmm, 99 but that's splitting hairs xD Yeah, true though. Psycho cut can always go back in later. And with 115 speed, that flinch could come in handy. And hey if you breed Zen Headbutt on, you'll be able to just heart scale it if Psycho Cut isn't to your liking ^^ win win.
-
August 4th, 2014 6:15 PMCycloneI can always change Psycho Cut back in later. No problem with that. It's in the level-up and it's my first time building an Absol. :)
I can also opt to give Absol the Wide Lens to take care of that 10%. 100% accuracy then, and better accuracy on other moves if evasion is increased by the opponent. -
August 4th, 2014 6:07 PMPolar SpectrumMmm, Zen Headbutt is base 80 power, while Psycho cut is base 70 - but did you look at the rest of the move's information? Psycho Cut is 100% accurate, and has a high crit rate. Zen Headbutt, does have 10 more power at base 80, but has doesn't have 100 accuracy, at 90. It does have a flinch chance though, which is a fair secondary effect. I suppose it boils down to, do you go for the small boost in power with the small gamble in accuracy and a potential advantage for going first; or do you go for a slightly lower power, with a flawless accuracy, and a higher chance to get lucky and deal more damage?
-
August 4th, 2014 6:03 PMCycloneI think so. I can Sucker Punch to guarantee the first hit (assuming the opponent also strikes), and the next turn involves improved speed to a base 115, which will be supplemented by an IV of 31 and EVs of 252. I'm also maxing out the Attack per this suggested guide. You'll notice I chose Egg Moves over the moves it recommends, and it addresses Psycho Cut at well; however, as I note, Psycho Cut is base 70 while Zen Headbutt is base 80. It's a no-brainer to put that in as someone will likely bring in a Fighting type; if the player leads with it, I'll have to ensure I plan for that and bring Absol out early to address it, or have something else with a Psychic move (Malamar was on my GT11 team, in fact).

August 4th, 2014 5:58 PMPolar SpectrumZen Headbutt over Psycho Cut eh? Are you gonna go for the mega Absol after all then?
-
August 4th, 2014 3:40 PMCycloneI'm going to use a female I'm getting with three Egg Moves right now (my future breeding subject for store purposes someday) and confirm that Iron Tail is not transferred. I predict it will not be, so I'm only using one Egg. If I'm surprised, I'll be using a female of the new subject and will have to get rid of a move to add Flamethrower.
I forgot Aerial Ace was learnable, but it gets Zen Headbutt via breeding. I've already utilized a Munna for that. A male Skitty (not my Delcatty, it's female) passed on Play Rough. I used a Rattata to get Sucker Punch quickly.
Power isn't being friendly. If I vanish, that's why. Storm here. -
August 4th, 2014 3:28 PMPolar SpectrumWell, it actually gets Play Rough and Psycho cut pretty easily naturally in sixth gen, which very nicely covers fighting, Stone Edge or Aerial Ace to cover bugs - and if you use mega absol, it'll even have a very powerful flamethrower to deal with Bug-Steel types (Although I don't think it would take a Choice Band Scizor Bullet punch very well at all) butttt its only lacking coverage is something for fairy. I thought it learned poison jab, but skimming its movepool now, it doesn't seem to :L Poo.
