August 20th, 2012 7:14 PMEruptionI agree. It's a bit like Eminem's early career criticism (and on Relapse to some extent), only with more boundaries broken.
-
August 20th, 2012 7:07 PMoutfoxPeople give him a hard time because he breaks boundaries, which is the point of his work, he intends to draw discomfort I guess so I'm okay with the kind of attention he gets from some people. I think he's refreshing.

August 20th, 2012 7:01 PMEruptionYeah, I feel like Frank is simply a part of the label rather than the group. As long as he continues to sing a few hooks on every OF release, I'm not too bothered.
I don't think Tyler should have too many critics, he produces his own stuff, his songwriting is fairly original and at least he isn't 2 Chainz or something just making terrible lyrics about strippers and getting monay. -
August 20th, 2012 6:55 PMoutfoxI suppose so. I've always found Tyler engaging, despite critics. But Frank is very successful in the music industry. His profile is very much separate from the rest of OF's, he's very professional.

August 20th, 2012 6:50 PMEruptionMost of the solo work outside of the group isn't that good imo. The producers in OF pretty much make it what it is.
Frank is a completely different story of course. -
August 20th, 2012 5:38 PMoutfoxYeah it's a great album. Lived up to the anticipation of it being as abstract as the whole OF project's works, yet solo his work is still distinct enough from the group's. Like I can't listen to Domo alone. Although he actually killed it in the OF Tape, like I honestly think he made the album, so maybe he's grown and his future solo stuff is something to look forward to.

August 20th, 2012 5:27 PMEruptionI think Bad Religion is pretty good. There's too many good tracks to pick out though, I love Thinkin Bout You, Pyramids, Lost, Pink Matter, Super Rich Kids and I'll probably end up loving most of the remaining songs too.
-
August 20th, 2012 5:22 PMoutfoxI love that song. And mmmm Thinkin Bout You is so smooth. I'm kind of embarrassed to admit Bad Religion is top on my most played right now.
-
August 20th, 2012 5:08 PMEruptionYeah, I love Channel Orange, I've literally played Pyramids multiple times a day since it came out.
I suppose it's easy for me to listen to because I can go from weird experimental rock to odd future to dubstep to whatever else without being phased much. -
August 20th, 2012 10:39 AMoutfoxHaha I'm like obsessively looking for which OF members are going to be featured on which tracks. Have you heard Frank Oceans latest album? It just recently came out, I love it...I have trouble listening to the album in full though, I'm so used to him being the tranquil relief in albums that are full of aggression and power
-
August 20th, 2012 10:12 AMEruptionYeah they're my favourite duo in the group, they have a new album out in October too. :D
-
August 20th, 2012 10:11 AMoutfoxI guess it depends on where you are. :) In any event it's good to see more people listening to their stuff. Left-Brain and Hodgy are dope as love together.
-
August 20th, 2012 8:22 AMEruptionI don't think they're particularly big over here, I do have quite a few friends who like them as well though so maybe.
I think Tyler is signed to an English label so it could make sense I guess. -
August 19th, 2012 8:55 PMoutfoxI never encounter OFWGKTA fans, are they somehow big in England? I'm from the states.
