First of all, yep! People are able to use 3ds Max 2010 and the G3D plugins for it, there is no need for 3ds Max 6 anymore, it can just be archived as a historical thing.

As for your errors, are you running 3ds Max 2010 as Administrator? To make sure you are, right click 3ds Max 2010, then click "Run as Administrator". Usually these errors are an indication that the program doesn't have Administrator privileges to access the Program Files (x86) directory.

Thank you greatly for your patient answer. :D
Then what's the main difference between gen 4 & gen 5 map hacking? For 3dsmax 2010 and the plugin with the SDK are not difficult to find today, are people able to use 3dsmax 2010 and the plugin for it to hack both gen 4 and gen 5 maps so they can get rid of 3dsmax 6 for it's an ancient version and is not compatible with recent operating systems?

The answer to the first question is that I was using 3ds Max 6 at the time I made the tutorial. At that time, there wasn't any 2010 SDK and it was only when the 2010 SDK was leaked that I ended up updating the tutorial, but didn't update the screenshots.

And as for the second question, SDSME didn't exist at the time the tutorial was made. But I'm pretty sure SDSME can still be used to replace the model of a map.

I have roughly read your thread and now I have 2 questions:
    1. You said in the tools section that we could use 3DSmax 2010, but you use 3dsmax 6 instead in the tutorial. Could you tell me why?
    2. Why is SDSME not compatible with your tutorial? Many people think it's easier to use than NPRE.
Thank you for your help. :D

Oh, that's really annoying and that will be pretty complicated. Hope you will be able to fix them quickly for your tutorial is really good.

Nah, all the images (except for the ones I've fixed) are dead. I have to fix them.

OH, no. Then it will make many pictures in many threads dead. It's so fortunate that you are still online these days. :)

Yeah, I'll fix those up. And yeah, Imageshack cleared out their server right when they changed from being a website in which didn't require creating an account to requiring users to register with an account.

I'm sad to tell you that this thread is also without visible images now. Maybe there's some problem with imageshack.

Okay, changed the links and fixed the images. Can you see them now?

If you still can't see them, then I assume it might have something to do with your ISP filtering websites (or parts of websites).

It is a direct link, but I thought it was public, but I guess it only permits my IP address on those images. I thought PostImage was reliable, I guess not.

Maybe the link of your image is not a public link or the link is not the direct link of your picture.
