Also, so long as you don't run into too many holes, I think the idea's pretty good. It would also serve to help bring activity into the writing section, which sounds amazing, in my book.
You can switch it with a different poem if you need to. It's only a trial run. I'm trying to see what issues I'll run into now, so I can fix the rules for later rounds (if I decide to continue this).
Well, I don't really think you need to worry about it too much. Traditional Haiku is very different from the anglicized version. As such, rating them could be influenced by what version the judge prefers.

Do you think I should allow other types? English Haiku is all I was taught to write really, so I don't want to really exclude people because of that. I just want to keep some kind of standard for people to work at, but I'm not against alternative works.
