    That does seem like the case.. Although I'm going to look into it a bit more, because I can't see the Elite 4 backgrounds for some reason. Thanks!

    Sorry, yeah I missed it. Ummm, it looks like maybe Emerald's table is just a lot shorter.

    I did try looking backwards, of course, but there doesn't seem to be anything significant. Here, I'll share some images if you want to look at them. The table's format seems consistent with your battle background table format, so I doubt that I'm looking at the wrong table.

    Did you try looking backwards? You may be starting in the middle of the table.

    Ok, I tried what you suggested, and I got the same offset I got when I was looking at LZ decompression: 0xD77D68. But the table that has that pointer would only have 10 backgrounds, if we go by the format in your tutorial. Maybe I'm just looking at the wrong images?

    You can also try getting the offset by just opening up UnLZ and scrolling through. The battle bgs are normally very close to the beginning in the double didgets.

    Do you mind helping me out with something?
    I'm trying to expand the battle background table for Emerald, and I can't find the battle background table, for some reason. I did what you said to do in your post about using the logging feature in vba-m, but I can't find it.
    Just to make sure I wasn't doing anything wrong, I tried doing the exact same thing with Firered, and i successfully found the offset you listed in the tutorial (0x24844C for the grass battle background), so I'm not sure what's going wrong for Emerald.

    Do you know the offset for the moves effect table for Emerald? I can't find it on PGE, and I'm trying to replicate the second part of itman's tutorial.

    Also, in your reply to my animation question, you said pokemon animations have a separate scripting language right? Do you have any links to documentations I can look at by any chance?
