Ech! The way she acts disgusts me.

At least Iris was made more tomboyish in nature, with the vine swinging and training those strong Pokemon while having cute ones at the same time. I actually like her design, which makes me feel sad for all the hate she gets.

Isn't that what they've been doing with every character from the games?

That would be very funny to witness. I feel like anime Serena's redesign was to make her and game Serena so drastically different from each other.

Let's be glad that game Serena acts nothing like anime Serena, but I do wonder if game Serena will wear a different outfit for the third version like with May and Dawn or the same outfit because of customization.

Yeah, it's just so terrible that Serena is only meant to do things that are most associated with females such as being into fashion and the fact Showcases are treated like those performances with Japanese idol girls. Writers are handling her terribly if they are making her a girly-girl stereotype, even when many had a fear the haircut would be turning her into a tomboy.

At least May and Dawn had to battle in their contests, leaving Serena as the most stereotypical one. Heck, even Princess Peach is more of a battler than her.

Active girls are probably always going to have some kind of Contest/Performance goal as a sidequest. This anime loves to promote that boys are battlers and girls are princesses. Especially when they put the playable girl in the anime. From May to Dawn to Serena they got more girly and more battle restricted each time to the point Serena is not even allowed to battle and it's really become a male dominate sport to do battles.
Serebii user Platinum fan. brought this up, and it was worth mentioning it to you. It appears the anime heavily discriminates genders when it comes to main cast by restricting the goals they can persuade. Basically, battling in their universe is a male-only thing leaving the female leads (barring Misty and Iris) to have to pursue Contests or Contest-like goals.

So yeah, if the playable female character in 7th Gen joins Ash in the next anime saga, she'll get restricted to a non-battling goal that's targeted towards girls again. Anime why you pick on genders so much? It really loves to claim females suck at battling or something.

Looks like Ash's team now has a horribly unbalanced team, as he now owns THREE Flying types. 2/3 are weak to Ice, 2/3 are weak to Rock, and 2/3 are weak to Electric (adding Frogadier makes half of his team weak to Electric types). See this is why Goodra should've never left in the first place, so we could've prevented this mistake from happening, because as a competitive trainer, you want to have as little weaknesses as possible when developing your team to prevent yourself from getting 0-6 by a single type your team is weak to.
I'd love to see Ash lose in the league because of the huge weakness he has thanks to all those Flying-types. If they have to come up with a new way to eliminate him in the Kalos league (assuming he doesn't use past-region reserves) then they should try and go down that route, getting swept by specific types like what happens when you don't balance your team enough.

This video I've watched yesterday has made me worry about summer blockbusters never winning any Oscar awards, but it also shows that people who think pure original movies will save Hollywood is fooling themselves:

I hope they edit it as Energy Ball or Hidden Power when it airs dubbed, as I think the former has a similar animation.

That episode hasn't been subbed yet for me to watch it, but wow, that's the biggest mistake they made since giving Ash's Pidove Wing Attack.

Apparently the latest anime episode had Scottie's Slurpuff using Electro Ball, a move it can't even learn since the move is like exclusive to Electric-types. I do have a feeling that in the dub that might get edited, like how they replaced the mention of his Treecko knowing Razor Leaf with Mega Drain.

Also, Treecko's evolution into Grovyle must mean one thing... Greninja vs Sceptile at Kalos League. Please writers, make it happen.

It's also a trend in some American cartoons, but the difference is that the voices suited their appearances.

I might need to watch the XY064 dub sometime and hear Scottie's voice so I can see why people are hating on it so much. But yeah, giving kid-aged characters voices that sound older than they are has been becoming a trend in Pokemon lately.
