October 7th, 2013 2:32 PMMKGirlismNo, there are no 3DS/Wii U Build Plugins for Code::Blocks, unless you want to use it to just write Code in, and then Build and Debug outside Code::Blocks, which is a pain to do for every small test.
-
October 7th, 2013 2:28 PMNathanSo C++ makes games on those platforms? Wouldn't Code::Blocks works as IDE too?
-
October 7th, 2013 2:25 PMMKGirlismFor making games from scratch, it's best to use C++ in Visual Studio 2010 Professional.
That's the Industry Standard for not only Windows and Xbox, but also for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U.
I don't know about PlayStation, though. -
October 7th, 2013 2:23 PMNathanOh I see. I'm starting to learn and I thought : which is better for game making, C or C#?
-
October 7th, 2013 2:18 PMMKGirlismC#, because I'm using Unity for Wii U, which supports JavaScript, C#, and Boo.
-
October 7th, 2013 2:06 PMNathanWhich coding language do you use for Chimpuzzle?
-
September 28th, 2013 1:54 PMNathanOh I get it. It's easier to make indie games on the PC. I guess I'll start here first if possible.
-
September 28th, 2013 1:50 PMMKGirlismWell, being a Nintendo Dev is a nice feeling, but it's harder than being a PC Dev, for example, as you need to figure everything out yourself, while a PC Dev can simply Google their problems.
-
September 28th, 2013 9:21 AMNathanOh. Like what?
-
September 28th, 2013 9:17 AMMKGirlismBoth of what you said, plus more.
-
September 28th, 2013 8:36 AMNathanBy the way, how is being a game dev like?
Tiring, frustrating? -
September 28th, 2013 8:29 AMMKGirlismNice, I'll keep that in mind, I think.
-
September 28th, 2013 5:32 AMNathanBtw I saw you talking about translator in the "Nintendo and Europe" thread, if you ever wanted to translate to French, I could give a free hand.
-
September 27th, 2013 9:08 AMNathanI wish you a lot of success!
I'm gonna mainly on being a Programmer myself. And I know game dev is kinda impossible alone. I suck at Art and Sound so I'd need those.
I'd like to program on Sony/Nintendo systems mainly. -
September 27th, 2013 9:04 AMMKGirlismYes, I did.
But if you want to, you bloody should establish a Team of at least 1 Programmer, 1 Artist, and 1 Designer.
Of course you can do it alone too, but it's almost undoable.
What you basically need, is lots of experience, and a secure business location, that's enough for Nintendo.
