I'll end it noting that the comment just came across negatively, mentioning me in the post like that. Obviously no offense was intended by me here, I wouldn't have said anything had that kind of comment not been made. I do think it's better that the user gets a quick answer, however, rather than wait two or three hours for a moderator to give the same answer; I mean, I could just as easily PM the user and you wouldn't even know (granted, that might be even quicker!). This is just a difference of opinion and me trying to be a helpful person to everyone, nothing to get concerned about or give infractions for.

Heck, I think I came close to being infracted in NU once because of my style of welcoming people; I responded by leaving that forum. Actually haven't posted there since. I took great offense to the comment that I was trying to "increase my post count" (really, I don't care if I have 100 posts or 10,000 posts; if anything, posts show experience, nothing else) and was tired of having my personal welcomes deleted. I still wonder why they don't make it not contribute to post count and just kill some of the damn rules, but hey, that's me.

Also, if you'd like to continue this discussion, take it to me via PM, since I don't think the entire issue should be discussed publicly.

Yes but you said you've only got it from an emulator, not a cartridge. With that in mind, their best way to get it is in the Quick Trade Thread, which is the place they should've been directed to. Future moderators are more likely picked if they actually REPORT threads like that, and wait for the moderator and it'll be many years I'm sure before Fifth Gen needs another moderator. You're lucky I didn't infract for that given that I've told you time and time again to just report :/

Telling someone that they can send me a VM for help getting a Pokémon with Pokérus is all right. Answering a comment where it is said (s)he isn't sure if it should be posted in the trade forum is all right. If I were to say, "This thread will be closed any minute", that would NOT be all right, nor would me posting something like, "Forever, attend please".

There's no problem with people helping other people; moderators don't have to be the exclusive help in various circumstances. If anything, it shows at times people who might be good FUTURE moderators to add to the staff. I use the report button where warranted. Hell, go see how many reports I've submitted in the past. There was no need for that kind of comment in the closing post, and it comes across as immature. Sorry.

What the heck is Wario dong infiltrating every page I visit now? They realize April Fool's is this coming Monday, yes?

No worries. Was just my thoughts. Obviously we have different opinions, but that's what makes this world go around. :D (Well...ignore the science behind it, and yeah.)

The caption contest would thus be stickied every week, then...
And yeah, weekly polls are unstickied, which are even more relevant than caption contests, sooo.

Anyway, while I do appreciate your thoughts, it works fine as it is in my opinion, and if I were to merge the stickies, the rules would be pushed to the newest post and that doesn't really fit. :( So I think it works fine as it is.

Well, I would suggest that "Unova Travel Journal" doesn't need to be a sticky either, but this type of thing is a matter of opinion. I like the idea of stickying something that is limited-time, and the caption contest qualifies, later unstickied at the end and replaced with the new one. I recall you used to stick weekly polls as well.

As for screen size, this (linked for size) is how big my view is give or take a couple rows of pixels (I cropped the taskbar and bits above the URL bar, and my "Find" bit which was up when I took the picture, out of the shot). If I hit F11, it's even bigger. I know you cater to all screen sizes, however, and some are still smaller than mine.

I agree that the Quick Questions threads are needed, but why not merge FAQ and Fifth Gen guidelines? They both seem like separate "rules" threads. One should suffice, right?

DISCLAIMER: Not trying to tell what to do, obviously, just my thoughts on the stickies. Still your call.

We have five stickies already, and there's a lot of scrolling going on (and with six - you couldn't view the forum as easily). Official Download Discussion was never stickied in Fifth Generation, only in B2/W2. I plan to update the FAQ anyway with all event information at some point, and there's only a few left for Generation 5 before Generation 6 hits, and most of the time events aren't discussed too extensively.

The thread itself has only gotten around 25 posts in a time space over a month too, which doesn't really warrant taking up sticky space, compared to the Travel Journal which is used every few days, the Quick Questions threads which are necessary and the FAQ/Rules which are also necessary. The thread can be revived as much as possible, though, despite it not being a sticky, and it's easy enough to find if you're looking for it. If we stickied everything it'd get harder to scroll and as staff we aim to have as little stickies as we can to make forums look less overwhelming to members.

I asked Xander, but he didn't know. Why is "Official Download Discussion" no longer pinned in 5th gen.? There are still events going on and it's a handy update utility.

Also surprised you didn't pin the Caption Contest. :D

Am I correctly seeing that, during my little PokéBreak, forum 247 (B2/W2) ceased to exist and is now merged with B/W (forum 200)? I did notice it's now called Fifth Generation Games.

Just checking as I got an Access Denied note on the B2/W2 forum.

Did you mean to label this as an ongoing discussion (as I've seen done to others), or does the poll prefix prevent that?

(If you do that before reading this, disregard. As I see ATM you haven't moved since reviving that thread,. If you don't intend to, also disregard. )

Correction to my prior VM: I looked at the GameFAQs PokéStar guide and found a Strange Ending path on the tutorial movie, so randomly chose Leavanny (not strong enough to kill due to mistype, strong enough to survive an Aerial Ace from a Lv.15ish Pawniard) and succeeded on the first attempt, grossing $79 million (damn, I wish I got some of that). I now have a movie star animation. :D

    Re your "Medal System" reply:

Haha, I've been busily seeking Hidden Ability Pokés of all types (Hidden Hollows, now the Mandibuzz on Route 4 in B2, just collected a Lv.30 Deerling with Serene Grace which could trounce much of my current party) and pocketing them in the PC. I intend to eventually put them all together and offer clones from my shop someday. Same with N's Pokémon, particularly to Black/Whtie players. :D Right now, between that and Pokéstar Studios, I find my time taken up and so far only have four badges, so still a little way's away from taking my W2 Pokés to the studios for movie filming. Hoping to hit all the Strange Endings someday. :D
