January 6th, 2021 7:08 PMRonihey so i just talked to someone, and unfortunately we don't have the feature to view all your liked posts yet. they did however recommend you to make a folder on your browser's bookmarks bar and collate all the posts there. if you don't know yet how to link individual posts, you can go to the upper right hand corner of each one and you'll see there's numbers right? something that looks like #260. you can right click > Copy Link Location and paste that into the bookmarks so it goes straight to that specific post when you visit the thread again. hope this helps!

January 6th, 2021 5:52 PMRoniaaah i just looked back on your introduction post and realized you did quote me but without my name and ID number in there, so yeah i didn't get notified about it. i'll have to get back to you on the likes question, need to ask an admin first bcs i don't know myself.
it's always sort of been the norm for us to respond quote someone, then if the original message is too long, either trim it down to just the part you wanna quote, or take it all off & replace everything with a period or something to save page space. here's a recent post of that happening, with the VPP convo between me and Caite. you'll notice i don't actually say lalala lol. i believe no one's ever really found that too difficult to do, but i will bring this up sooner or later if we ever have a suggestions meeting or something. thanks for the input! -
January 6th, 2021 12:45 PMMeister_anon~Master_o f_NoneHey Roni I found something possibly useful.
So i remember when you told me about the issue with notifications in the forums, and that it only works if you quote them.
But I've noticed that quoting from the reply box, and quoting via the respond and pencil buttons are 2 different things.
Apparently notifications are only received when done with the respond button, but that requires quoting the entire post.
(which I believe no one really wants to do)
So here's what I found, if you quote from the message box it doesn't notify the person, because it doesn't identify the quote as being originally posted by them.
While the respond button does. Looking at it I found that its specifically this part that makes the difference...(using your id for reference)
[QUOTE=Roni;10255692]
This is the quote that comes with the respond button it lists, the Username of poster along with their ID.
So i'm thinking if the mod team, or sheep maybe, can change how the respond button works to create a blank quote with just that part and the end quote,
it would be a major improvement.
This way we could link to the person, while being able to only quote the part that's actually relevant to the conversation.
I tested it myself a minute ago and it worked well, but right now what you'd have to do, is use the respond quote method, copy the id like above, then delete the rest of the message except the end quote, then copy paste what you actually want to quote. Not very user friendly imo lol. :)
If you just wanted to tag a person you could probably just leave the quotation blank and write whatever you wanted after the end quote.
Actually maybe i should test that first.
Do you mind if I try to tag you from my new member introduction post?
I'd make a blank quote and just need you to let me know if you got a notification.
lol looking back I see you already know about that. nvm then. -

January 6th, 2021 1:08 AMMeister_anon~Master_o f_NoneYeah its nice, gave me a little confidence boost, so I may try tackling some of those other ideas I had now that I got the basics, more or less.
I think the code may have had an if check for the bulbasaur thing, and I may have had my bulbasaur with me at the time, so maybe the code searched and recognized bulbasaur and moved to the next line and gave ivysaur instead, or something. -
January 5th, 2021 11:11 PMRonithat's really weird lol. how'd the game even pull up ivysaur anywhere from the code? i'll never get how anything works in that department, but glad to hear you're having a good time with experimentation!

January 5th, 2021 10:05 PMMeister_anon~Master_o f_Nonelol gosh I don't even remember anymore, I think it was just supposed to be a test.
Initially my goal was to create a script to make trainer battle repeatable, but I'd never scripted before so I was just going around looking at stuff and trying to learn how to change existing code.
I ended up latching on to editing the three pokeball sprites in professor oak's lab, and was able to change it to let me take the last pokeball.
But because I only changes one thing everything else in the sequence ran too, so rival took another pokemon etc.
Didn't break my game by then my rival had the same pokemon as my main, so I spent a bunch of time trying to figure out how to reset that, before I just gave up, created a new person event, and repointed to the take bulbasaur script and let it ride.
That worked and now my rival's fixed, and I have a permanent event that allowed me to keep "taking" bulbasaur without actually getting one, and triggering the first rival battle as many times as I want.
Usually that's what happened it would run, I would get "?????????" and then rival battle, but one time it said "ivysaur" and I didn't even realize I actually got one until recently. XD -
January 5th, 2021 9:19 PMRoniNice to hear you're making progress! What was the script supposed to do tho? Lol
-
January 5th, 2021 8:53 PMMeister_anon~Master_o f_NoneThanks, and yeah I'm doing pretty well, just compiled my first successful script.
Only understand half of what I did and I just realized repeated uses somehow gave me an ivysaur. lol -
January 5th, 2021 7:59 PMRoniThanks Meister Anon! Real excited to be one :D Hope you're doing well!
