Hmm possibly, you dont want to edit those unknown bytes though, I've actually corrupted a ROM just by changing one of those. Could you send screenshot of NSE open with the hex editor open? Cause that issue was always caused by the pal register for me.

Oh, I even tried messing with the unknown bytes too, got some funny results. Would the only solution just be editing an OW that has 9 frames?

I think most people are noobs when it comes to this, no ones documented anything about it.
Well in NSE if you click ctrl-m it will go into advanced mode and show additional information.
There will be a label that says Pal Register ## ## ## ##.
    Spoiler:

Then you will want to open up NSE's built in hex editor and click sprite offset and find the pal register that was shown.
You probably will not have to scroll at all.
    Spoiler:

You will want to edit that first number to a free register. use the list I posted on Q&A for a small little pointer in the right direction on free registers.

,zds fvkja f I'm a total noob when it comes to this..
can you explain what you mean about pal registers? like, how would I change them, what exactly are they, all that? sorry haha
