October 20th, 2010 10:37 AMTaeminWell, in this end, is mostly a child's forum, in that way we try to prevent many many younger eyes from viewing things like that. D; Personally, I wanted to leave them there, because I thought it made for a good debate, but at the same time I didn't want too many younger members seeing what was said. :/ That's not what PC is for. There's plenty of other forums to hold debates of that standard on.. PC isn't one of them, not once they turn into a fight, or flamewar.

October 19th, 2010 2:29 PMBrandonEBut deleting her post does nothing but hide her ignorance, making it acceptable. People have to be be able to say their opinions, and people have to be able to refute them. Removing bigoted nonsense prevents people for seeing it, critically evaluating it, and realizing it's bigoted. And now, another staff member deleted ANOTHER one of my posts, even though it was a direct response to him calling me "childish" for drawing a parallel between one type of hate speech and another. This site's standards for deletion are absurd, and do not support open and productive discussions.

October 19th, 2010 12:59 PMTaeminAccording to a lot of the staff members here, debates in general are iffy all around. Because they always get out of hand, people always end up arguing, and someone always turns it into a flame war. In this case, PinkSquid was the one who needed to stop since you were more just defending yourself, and that makes sense. We weren't jumping on you, so much as we were telling her to stop. :/

October 19th, 2010 10:33 AMBrandonEYou're treating the thread like a poll instead of a discussion. By saying I can't address how they are blindly opposing something, you're advocating ignorance over debate. The problem with this discussion is that people are saying "I feel this, I don't need to give a reason, deal with it." Why would you foster this method of communication? Do you think it's productive? I don't.

October 18th, 2010 8:59 PMTaeminBecause.. every post in that thread is supposed to be a direct answer to the thread's title question. Replying to someone about how they failed to read some posts.. has nothing to do with the topic.
Either way, she's dragging things out, and I'm about ready to close that thread. >_> -
October 18th, 2010 8:57 PMBrandonEI stated in the previous post that the problem with the cannabis discussion is that the criminalizers don't evaluate any of the points of the legalizers, merely hiding behind a veil of ignorance. How citing someone as a key example is off topic escapes me.
-
October 18th, 2010 8:45 PMTaeminAwesome, you didn't even pretend to read the other posts. Way to prove my point.has nothing to do with answering the question "Should marijuana be legalized?"... thaaat's why I had to delete it. xD;

October 18th, 2010 8:42 PMBrandonEI was definitely staying on topic.

October 18th, 2010 8:30 PMTaeminUuuuuh, it was just a small post that I deleted, because you two were arguing in one or two posts without actually staying on topic in said posts. x_o

October 18th, 2010 8:25 PMBrandonEWhat was objectionable about what I said in the topic on cannabis legalization? ":/" isn't a valid reason.
