Yeah I found out that a while back while you weren't on pokecommunity and I didn't notice your signature until after I put that post up.
-
Eh, sorry for the late replies, if you read my signature, you would have known that I left PC.
As for your question, I have no idea why your scripts aren't working, as my own hack is based off of an (unfinished) version of that patch.
However, you might just be encountering problems that everyone does even on Ruby and FireRed, are you putting in variables in the tab on the left corner on A-Map? That's probably the problem.
-
Hey, um ... is it normal for no scripts to work with your emerald clean-up patch? I mean my scripts are perfectly fine and I have tried compiling them onto different offsets but all of them just freeze everything (except for the music)...
-
Hey Emerald expert, is the sand at the bottom of the basic tileset in emerald an animation or can I change it just by inserting the tileset into A-Map with different tiles there?
-
haha lol i thought you just meant the map one :L not all of them
-
Very old news. I think I've already said this to you twice, but I'll say it again: You have to put in a text string at 0x1F8820.
-
Hey all of the tiles that you can click on to go onto a different screen glitch on your patch (tv, world map etc)
-
I do know what I'm doing I just thought it would be more complicating than that.
-
I deleted them, so you have to add them back in. It's very easy, just click on the events tab (on A-Map) and simply add them.
EDIT: Oh, you meant Pokemon Center? Just copy the scripts from a clean Emerald rom...
To be honest, you should only be using that patch if you already know what to do.
-
can I have a step by step tutorial on how to make it so the game shows the overworld map in the PC on the cleaned up emerald ROM please?
-
It doesn't have to require hex editing. You could just make a generic talking script with XSE and make the text string that offset.
It's actually easier with a hex editor, because you could just go to the offset and type it in. You could even repoint it so that the string that it calls is at a different offset.
-
Damn it does that involve hex editing? Or do you mean put the string back into the script?
-
I edited that post a long time ago saying that it's okay to download it. All you have to do to make it work is to put in a text string at 0x1F8820.

Hey, you know you said not to use your cleaned emerald ips patch because you can't view the world map in the PC or your house, well are you going to try and fix that so that people can use it? Also, can't you just re-compile the script for seeing the world map or is it more complicated than that?
