I'm having a bit of trouble of why everyone's saying Kill la Kill "saved anime." It looks like it's trying to appeal the edgy culture with Ryoko wearing black clothing and having black hair w/ a red hair line, which is a common color scheme for edgy protagonists such as Shadow the Hedgehog and New Dante. The edgy culture is frowned upon the internet community due to these people trying to be "hip and hardcore." There's even a parody image of those three together titled "Edge, Eddge, and Edgy."
