    I realized after how stupid that idea was. {XD}

But I present now, for your consideration, Malamar. Damaged normally by Fighting types. Part Psychic, can learn Psychic moves. There is also a resistence to Fighting in pure Fairy types, meaning if I recognize a Mach Punch user and swap in quickly, I might be able to switch over to Clefable or even Azumarill (part Water, still resists) and pull off a strong Fairy attack before Mach Punch decimates me.

There is nothing mentioned on Bulbapedia about its base power increasing, so I presume that it would have to be set up by the user with stat increases. This also leads to recognizing a user quickly and getting something that resists it in place to take an eventual hit and knock it out with a single Fairy or Psychic blow (Moonblast or Psychic FTW). Malamar takes more damage, however, than Fairy types do, so I will be looking at Clefable's Moonblast as a nice backup option.

Um, well see the problem with that is, while MP is base 40, it gets stab from fighting types - and will hit super effective - bumping it from 40->60->120. Plus, lotssss of common fighting types get buffs on it. Ie; technician brelooms Mach punch goes from 40->60->90->180 with stab technician and super. Conkeldurr hitmonchan and infernape get iron fist; making it 40->60->72->144 with stab iron fist super. And even disregarding those, Mach punches priority means Greninja won't be able to change type, and will be hit super with his low defense, absol or mega absol will at best get off a resisted sucker punch, then have Mach punch hit their very sad 60 base def, and bisharp... Well it's 4x weak :x

    Two words: Sucker Punch.

I just hope they don't outspeed me. And yes, not as strong on Fighting types. Also, Mach Punch is only base 40, Sucker Punch is 80.

I plan to swap in a Fairy if I do get destroyed by a Fighting move in one fight.

Oh, and Greninja changing types can also take care of that problem. I'm surprised Greninja isn't an uber with that. If it could learn Earthquake, it would be banned by now.

All I have to say for your team so far, is beware mach punch. Your secondary fairy type covers that, but you should have a swift answer to things that are gonna try and run through you with a strong physical sweeper offensive.

Something for me to consider, for sure. :)

For now, I have EV trained my Froakie. That's four Dark types in the bag; one Shiny 5IV, three at 6IV. Anything extra now will just give me juggling options, but sooner or later, it will be necessary to actually level up the team to learn some moves (possibly exempting Froakie, whose moves will be TMs, but I have to get to Greninja anyway). Not to mention cloning it, which will be my second-ever trip from X into the Power Saves.

Don't mind me creeping on your VM convo with Euphoric, but Dark has a fair amount of anti-fairy options. Besides the glorious Bisharp, don't forget that Drapion and Skuntank are a thing. Skuntanks kinda meh but it gets stab sludge bomb. Although dat Fairy Sp Def. I personally rock the Bisharp or Drapion when I want anti-fairy and a dark type. Drapions got some nasty tricks too, it's fast, has decent defense, gets things like Knock Off, Swords Dance, and get this - it gets sniper, and stab on Night Slash and Cross Poison. I'll tell you right now - now Fairy that isn't also a steel type or Carbink appreciates a stab Sniper Cross Poison crit. I run that set on my drapion, holding a Scope Lens of course.

    OH.
    MY.
    LORD.

What are the chances that the very first Froakie I ever, EVER breed ends up being a 6IV with Protean?

IT WAS! The only thing to improve it would be making it female!

I don't think we need to start it over - I just think we should hold off any new entrants types being picked until everyone who's been there from the start picks their types.

Whhhhaaaaaat I'm saying is, Normal I understand, because it was picked last. His/Her second pick though, may not be fair, since he/she wasn't originally anywhere on the list, so placing them at the bottom by default, is like placing them at the top for round 2, since it's literally first pick of all 18 types. Just for joining at the right time.

No, no, look at Tetra's first post. The request was for Ice and Fairy. Both were available in Round 2. Fairy and Normal (from Round 1) were selected. Clear. Finito. Leave it alone, don't open a can of worms.

But all types were available at the beginning in round 2. :x This means that anybody that joined at this point, would have free rain to pick any type before anybody regardless of battles played or won just for waiting until now to join. Idunno, I don't think this is something one person should decide, it should be brought up in the thread again and agreed upon by at least a few people.

Others got to pick ahead of the newcomer. That's the advantage of being on time. :)

Fortunately, both preferred types were options in Round 2. So really, nothing would have changed here.
