August 1st, 2014 1:31 PMCycloneVery nice. :) Good to have the family connection there, some families unfortunately end up very fractured.

August 1st, 2014 1:11 PMShiny BunnelbyYeah it was a good guess haha! She is going to my dad's this weekend. He will actually be at my place any moment for her.

August 1st, 2014 1:03 PMCycloneI had the year part right!
-
August 1st, 2014 1:00 PMShiny BunnelbyShe is just a year and two weeks. It was pretty early in my pregnancy when X and Y were first announced.

August 1st, 2014 12:32 PMCycloneHaha, very nice. She's one and a half now, I'm guessing?

August 1st, 2014 12:29 PMShiny BunnelbyI was pregnant when X and Y were announced and I just cried, because I viewed it as "my daughter's Gen". This was going to be the generation that will start her off on her adventure. She sits in my lap when I play my 3DS. She has taken a liking to Donkey Kong and Monster Hunter as well.

August 1st, 2014 12:23 PMCycloneI would hope the kids like Pokémon. :) After all, it's meant as something they're supposed to latch onto, and nowadays a lot of parents have at some point (and some still do!) play themselves, so it becomes something the parents and kids can do together. I don't think anyone, even Nintendo, predicted this back in 1996!

August 1st, 2014 12:18 PMShiny BunnelbyThe ones in my town are mostly run out of the owner's house and they employ people who aren't fully certified in first aid and CPR. My stepsister actually quit her job to raise her son because of the fact that the benefits of staying home far outweigh the cons, and she got paid pretty well. It's a shame, but at least there is a parent that never misses out on the fun stuff. I got to see my daughter's first step, first words, and the first time she clapped about something. Plus she, adorably, imitates me when I do laundry. She will grab shirts from a basket and shake them out the way I do before loading them up lol! She also really loves to watch Pokémon with me.

August 1st, 2014 12:12 PMCycloneYeah, many are good, but there are some bad daycares. It's only worth using them under two incomes, and even then a lot of the second income goes missing.

August 1st, 2014 12:05 PMShiny BunnelbyI know the feeling. I go crazy without productivity and I have to stay home now, because I have a toddler to care for. So when she is occupied, I generally play piano and try to learn knew things. I miss working, though, but childcare is too expensive and frankly I don't trust the daycare centers here anyway.

August 1st, 2014 11:57 AMCycloneHaha, I see. I'm in a less than ideal living situation ATM (unemployed) so I'm trying to make the best of it, but that means no desktop, and I can't get a new laptop (this one is under warranty and going for a fix eventually anyway).
-
August 1st, 2014 11:56 AMShiny BunnelbyMeh. I am saving for a new laptop, anyway. My current desktop is nearly six years old and I don't have the space, or time to really do anything with it. I've stored it in a closet and will probably mess with it some other time. My access is through my phone now and I use a fan for background noise. I know a few people that will gladly lend me tools and resources to build a new desktop eventually, but right now isn't a good time. Plus I have forgotten what I am supposed to do. Repressed memories. My teens weren't the best times and I try to forget.

August 1st, 2014 11:41 AMCycloneActually, you can disable that, and I have. However, this one randomly installed itself this morning. Found it in System Restore.
Ironically, I can't go backwards to the prior point without uninstalling software I'm using for training.
F♥♥♥ my luck... -
August 1st, 2014 11:40 AMShiny BunnelbyThose nonconsensual updates drive me up the wall. I usually would have music playing for ambience (I don't enjoy silence so strong that I can hear my blood pumping or hear myself breathe), and then suddenly my computer restarts and screws it all up. Always in the middle of the night, too. ;-; I wake up frequently at night so it creeps me out when it's suddenly so quiet. Ick.

August 1st, 2014 11:35 AMCycloneHaha, like what? I'm trying to figure out why my laptop can't stay connected to a chat room now; my Windows installed something this morning when I opened the laptop (from sleep mode) and I'm trying to figure out WTF it did.
