April 1st, 2016 10:38 PMgimmepieI dunno the specifics either, but we still have quite a few haha
I agree with him. I'd rather start at the bottom and develop an understanding of what I'm doing for the most part.
Probably not, but it's not like he's the only socialist running around xD -
April 1st, 2016 12:29 PMSomewhere_But do you guess have less car accidents per 100,000 persons? idk the statistic here, but its pretty high.
*watches the thread remove itself from the forum and fly away*
lol. Same! But it was fun! Next time ill be better hopefully, but I do not live rural enough to be handy with an ax lol. I kind of wish I was because I like that sort of work. The landscaper dude also gave really good advice later on the trip while chewing tobacco haha. And then he showed me his can and said not to do it. He had some interesting stories being in the coast guard and stuff, but he had some great advice I had never really heard. He does not make a lot of money, but he is happy. He says working from the bottom up is much better than starting higher because you learn the trade better, and the people you will be employing. And some other stuff too.
Definitely. And he is better than Hillary (I changed my mind on this). Maybe if he loses or something because I doubt he could ever do it as a president. But at the same time it wouldnt mean as much after the elections. -
March 31st, 2016 11:34 PMgimmepieIt's honestly the worst here lmao
No worries, it's not going anywhere.
Always interested in hearing about peoples' exploits xD
Yeah the fans might be but it'd be political suicide for Sanders to actually do it now. -
March 31st, 2016 5:59 PMSomewhere_then I got it easy lol. Everywhere else it seems harder. Thats how it should be! Drivers down here are scary!
Sorry I haven't been active at all... I need to post on that thread of yours still.
I have been gone doing community service and I'm so tired haha. And I am sore all over. It was worth it and I had a ton of fun, but my back, shoulders, and legs are killing me. And blisters on my hands from clearing brush/tree branches with an ax. I can tell you about my trip if you want, but it might be boring lol.
I just received a signed version of Adam Kokesh's book "FREEDOM!" today. I got some extra too (not signed) because it was cheaper per book so ill distribute them to family and a friend. And a nice Voluntaryism T-shirt that Im excited about. I also talked to some Bernie fans and they seem open to a debate between Sanders and Kokesh. -
March 26th, 2016 11:34 PMgimmepieTo get your licence here you first complete a theory test to get onto phase one of your learners. During this time a person who has held a full licence for at least three years has to always be with you whilst you drive. After six months and completing at least 25 hours of driving you can take a practical assessment and go to phase two. This phase has the same rules as the first. At the end of that you then do a hazard perception test to get onto your provisional licence. When you have that you can finally drive alone but have feet demerit points and a curfew on how late you can drive. It takes about two years to get off it I think. After that you get your full licence.
I don't think it's contradictory as such, just poorly worded. When they're talking about a free market they're talking about in comparison to communist nations and the "free" medical care was just botched as in its wording. -
March 26th, 2016 10:34 AMSomewhere_My history textbook is freaking killing me. People can argue economics all they want, but the book is directly contradicting themselves. They talk about the Christian Democratic Parties all over Europe during the Cold War and how they advocated for free market economics, but then wanted to subsidize education and other stuff. That isn't free market!
Then go on to talk about the British Labour Party that took control and how they gave "free" medical care, etc. And then mention taxation. Clearly its not free lol. The book should have worded it like, "offered medical care, unemployment benefits, etc," not "free benefits."
There are so many things wrong with this book its ridiculous. It makes me wonder how much these people even know what they are writing about lol. -
March 26th, 2016 7:37 AMSomewhere_I was sort of forced to get my license by my parents because Ill need it to go to a job and stuff. I can just walk or ride my bike to school, and same thing with a job as long as its not that far away. Ill probably end up doing errands for my mom or taking my sister places most of the time lol.
That stinks. In the US, the test is really easy and its pretty easy to get a license. Licensing seems to be stricter elsewhere, like Canada. what are the rules in Australia? -
March 25th, 2016 10:12 PMgimmepieI'm still on my learners :')
I'd be a lot closer to my licence though if I hadn't gotten sick haha -
March 25th, 2016 9:50 AMSomewhere_i got my driver's license today... and pre-registered to vote. Of course i registered with the Libertarian Party! xD

March 24th, 2016 11:22 PMgimmepieIt's what I was taught in high school and uni.
-
March 24th, 2016 6:36 PMSomewhere_What do you mean? I have written essays with section titles. This is news to me lol. I have read essays with section titles as well. Is it like a different type of essay you mean?
-
March 24th, 2016 6:33 PMgimmepieYou know if you add section titles it becomes a report not an essay ;)
-
March 24th, 2016 1:49 PMSomewhere_Maybe ill give it a try... It sounds like a ton of fun!
Its less about proving stuff with facts and statistics- in fact Im trying to avoid that. I wont be able to when I talk about building an anarchist society because I'm going to talk about spanking. Yes, spanking has a lot to do with it lol. Or rather, the lack of it! xD
Its really just full of philosophy and logical proofs. Im separating it with section titles to make it easier to read and digest because its going to be fairly long. Im on my ninth page so far and Im about 2/3 of the way through not counting outside sources and editing. And most of the sections are fairly brief, but that is the point of it. There are whole books about court systems in an anarchist society, and roads, and blah blah blah. Im just providing an overview of the philosophy without getting into all of that.
