February 26th, 2016 8:18 PMSomewhere_Just watched the first episode. It was pretty good... Im sure I will get into it. hopefully.
Im applying for an economics course that is held at various colleges (and I can go for free too), so I have to write an essay. And I have two other essays to write- English and Ethics. And multiple quizzes, as well as a spanish project to work on. And I have to practice for my driver's license. Tbh, I dont even want a driver's license yet because I have no where to be, but I need one if I get a job. Unless I can just walk to my job. For example, if I get a job at the local mall, its like a 5 minute drive, but probably a 20 minute walk, which isn't bad. Otherwise, there isn't a point. I dont socialize much outside of school or hang out with any friends. -
February 26th, 2016 7:56 PMgimmepieI don't expect you to watch it xD

February 26th, 2016 6:49 PMgimmepieI am not entirely sure at this point. It's slice of life but it's weird.

February 26th, 2016 3:47 PMSomewhere_I have heard of Clannad... what is it about?
-
February 25th, 2016 7:26 PMgimmepieYeah she was a little bit annoying at the beginning but she really grows on you.
Oh cool, I'm not that interested in Log Horizon myself. I started Clannad last night. So far it's kind of weird lol. I'm going to start Gakkougurashi! soon too, that seems really interesting. -
February 25th, 2016 2:26 PMSomewhere_I really liked Lubbock... And Mine was sad because she was almost with Tatsumi. To be honest, I wanted her to die in the beginning lol.
So positive liberty would be the ability to have the resources to do something. For example, I am not free because I cannot afford to travel on a cruise to Alaska. This is where welfare would come in. However, I believe positive liberty is contradictory, inconsistent, and practically, leads to less positive liberty. But I still need to look into it more and develop a philosophical argument either for or against it.
I hate that negative liberty sounds so.... well, negative lol. Negative liberty is freedom from aggression on one's own body and property. Which at first glance, I seem to be pro negative liberty instead of positive liberty. It also looks like I can empirically prove that negative liberty leads to more positive liberty.
My friend and I are starting Log Horizon this weekend. Its opening is a song by man with a mission, and I like their music. -
February 25th, 2016 5:57 AMgimmepieJust finished Akame ga Kill, it got so much better near the end. The last few deaths, especially Mine and Lubbocks were really sad and the ending really suited the anime.

February 23rd, 2016 7:53 PMgimmepieWhat's the difference between positive and negative liberty?
I'm up to episode 13 now. Now that things are heating up it's getting a lot better and it's starting to make you more attached to characters which is good.
I'm sure you'll do fine. :) -
February 23rd, 2016 6:15 PMSomewhere_As a voluntaryist, I would have no problem with a state if its voluntary... I would be contradicting my own ideals if I forced people to never form together. As a result, I am not against government- I am against the initiation of force. Its like saying I am against killing kids- I am against ALL murder, not just the murder of kids. Im still researching my own philosophy and changing (i just downloaded "Ethics of Liberty" too). I was recently introduced to the notion of positive vs. negative liberties (leftists believe in positive liberty) that I want to check out. At first glance, positive liberty appears contradictory and inconsistent, but I dont want to make such a decision without looking into it further.
You are right, but it was somewhat salvaged because she did that thing with Tatsumi's dead friends and stuff. Ugh. I wish I had more time this week to do fun stuff. I have a crap ton of make-up work.
I have a big test tomorrow, and I really hope I make some gains on my anxiety. I dont care about the grade, just about improving. -
February 22nd, 2016 7:13 PMgimmepieI would argue it's not immoral under different sets of ideals to yours.
I feel like Sheele's death should definitely have started the feels, but it was pretty hollow. We hadn't really gotten to know her as a character, but she'd been around too long for it to showcase how anyone could die at any moment in the "we just met you and now you're dead" kind of way. -
February 22nd, 2016 1:50 PMSomewhere_its consistent. and consistency is valued over inconsistency. Logically its flawless (as far as I know), but practically is debatable. Although i would argue that the result doesnt matter- sort of how if slavery ended, it doesnt matter what happens after because you have removed a terrible immorality.
I felt like 9 and 10's execution could have been better as well. I thought Sheele's death would start the feels (it did for me). The show pulled me in, but I do have some things I dislike about it. I heard the manga is different tho (i wont say what until you finish). -
February 21st, 2016 7:27 PMgimmepieYeah I get that, I don't agree with your philosophy but I can understand the logic behind it.
Things get pretty real across 11 and 12, although the execution could have been a bit better. So far Akame ga Kill isn't grabbing me like it should, I'm up to ep 9 atm. I'm enjoying it but it's pulling me in, you know?
I'm with you there.
