I simply do not like the taste of eggs. In England we have many types of Cheese. Many places have their own signature brand of Cheese.

If I remember correctly Real Time Strategy games can take an extended period of time. The only RTS I have played is the Red Alert games on Xbox 360 which also feature wonderfully silly cutscenes.

I never saw it as child labour that Oak was enlisting Child Labour by having you and his nameless Grandson collect Pokedex data for him. :0

Surely the oldest joke in Pokémon is 'What was his name again?' Oak's memory is even worse in the Gen 3 Fire Red/Leaf Green, not only does Oak somehow still not know his own Grandson's name...he inexplicably
can't even tell if you are a boy or a girl even though you grew up with said Grandson. :D

Maybe. In the anime shouldn't Pikachu be Level 100 by now? Maybe Ash and the Electric Mouse are hit by some sort of spray between seasons causing Ash to forget things and Pikachu to not be overlevelled.

Yes. He casts reflect. In the Final Fantasy Games Carbuncle is some sort of rabbit compared to a cat like being Espeon is.

:O How can one not like eggs? You can do so many things with them, they're almost equal in awesomeness with cheese!

It's a terribly old (2002 I think?) pc game, yes, a real time strategy to be more precise. Randoms aren't really fun, but some of my friends have a tendency to ragequit occasionally too. I don't get why they can't just finish the game.

But Oak said it was his dream to complete the PokéDex but was to old to do so and apparently needed child labor to get his fieldwork done. Besides, isn't the oldest joke "Are you a boy or a girl?"?

Hmm... kinda true, I guess. Pokémon is all about exploring and stuff, so it's a pretty normal question. Repetition must have been caused by some sort of amnesia.

It's probably just coincidence, but that doesn't make it less cool. I've never really liked Carbuncle though, it's mostly casting reflect I think, and then you can no longer heal your allies and they all die (because the opponents don't care about it and just attack you).

Never been a big fan of eggs.

I do not know what Age Of Empires is I am afraid. Is it a PC game? If playing with friends you are likely to have fun, against randoms not so much as they may ragequit if you win. :(

Indeed I am fortunate many places speak English even if it is just 'Pidgin' English.

We don't use Euros for...reasons. (I genuinely have no idea.) :(

I always thought Ash was given Oak's personal Pokedex with numerous completed entries. The oldest joke in Pokémon is that Oak is well old and prone to forgetting things and gave Ash his personal Pokedex in error.

Talking of forgetting things Ash is prone to forgetting Pokemon he has seen before. When I think of Ash the first quote I think of is 'What's that?'. :)

I have a Shiny Espeon. :) Whilst seemingly a random colour the Green with the red head jewel makes me think its Shiny Colouration was based on the Final Fantasy character Carbuncle.

Egg salad beats everything (unless it's from the supermarket).

I play Age of Empires II sometimes with friends, but that's it. I'm not a real fan of playing with randoms either for such game, you know how good your friends are, but a game with randoms is hard to get balanced.

Not really. xD There are some words that come from Latin, but it's the same that constantly reappear everywhere, a big vocabulary and knowledge of the grammar is really useful.
Six is really early, but I was nine, I think, when we were supposed to learn the first steps of English. It's different for you, because English is an universal language and Dutch is pretty useless.

Well, I won that trip, with about everything included, so I can't say I really looked at prices. Everything looked cheaper though with smaller numbers. Why can't you guys just use euros? :P

Yeah, Espeon is very famous because of the green shiny colors too. Sandslash looks great at least!

Could be. I'm pretty sure he has looked up some Pokémon several times during his journey. (And he's cheating, normally you have to catch Pokémon before the Dex can tell you what it is.)

I know there is Chicken Salad which I like, Walford Salad, Garden Salad and Brock's favourite Ceasar Salad.

When I was at school I used to play Chess at Lunchtime. If you have a group of friends you know playing video games can be fun...against randoms not so much. Playing Monopoly is a family tradition for me.

I have not learnt Latin for many years but I imagine it could be useful for Science. In England I didn't learn a languages until I was about 15. It is changing now so schoolchildren as young as six are being taught foreign languages like German and Mandarin Chinese.

London is nice but it is indeed very busy...and expensive.

Sandshrew's Shiny was made back when every other Shiny was Green. On some Pokemon like Misdreavus Green looks good, some not so much. Shiny Sandslash does look pretty cool however.

It is true that Pokedex descriptions are all over the place. Some make sense like Squirtle being the 'Tiny Turtle Pokemon', others do not like Blastoise being the 'Shellfish Pokémon'. On the other side some are screamingly obvious like Phanpy being the 'Long Nose Pokemon' and not say the Elephant Pokemon, Furret being the 'Long Body Pokemon' and my personal favourite Swanna is the 'White Bird Pokemon'. (Say what you see) In truth the descriptions might be there just so the Pokedex can say something after an Ash Ketchum 'What's that?' when seeing a Pokémon he is unfamiliar with.

There's a lot of difference between different types of salad, it really depends on what you put in it.

Yeah, I don't really have friends nearby (depends on what you call nearby by the way, not "same town" nearby, but I do have friends "15 kilometers" nearby). Often in video games you're just looking at a screen all the time, while I find board games more sociable (and you can easily play cards during lunch on schooldays). Also, I almost always lose with video games.

Ah, London, I've been there once. It's a really cool city, though I prefer less crowded places.

In high school everything was Dutch, but uni has started a pilot program (we're the lab rats basically) to see if they can do half of the classes in English, aiming for more international attraction. Books are all English anyway, that's the main language of science.
Not many people speak Dutch, so the country aims for everyone to learn at least a few other languages. You're obligatory to graduate high school with at least Dutch, English and another language of choice. I had German and Latin too (and French for a few years, but I dropped it because I didn't like it).

That's nice, though it's shiny colors look terrible, orange (or even purple or pink) would've looked a lot better. PokéDex is just PokéDex, it never says exactly what a Pokémon is based on. Another example, Hippowdon is the heavyweight Pokémon, clearly a hippo (it's even in the name), but it doesn't want to admit it. (Funnily enough though, Hippopotas is a hippo Pokémon.)

Buffets can be very good if done right. Salad is not the most filling of foods so a lot of it can be eaten.

Indeed more Christmas is better. :)

Video games can be very sociable if you have friends nearby. Online gaming can be sociable if you are friends you know well but I find online gaming can be a chore. Playing Monopoly is a family tradition in my house. :)

I was seeing my family down near London. It Was a lot of fun and nice to see everyone. :)

I did not know that all your books were written in English and half your classes as well. It is good however that you are in effect Bi-lingual. :)

I was traded a Shiny Sandshrew recently. (It's green). According to the Pokedex Sandshrew is the 'Mouse' Pokemon the same as Pikachu even if the two look completely different. To me Sandshrew and indeed Sandslash look more like Armadillos.

Gourmeting does indeed sound fun but preparing food does take time no matter how many people are preparing. I am not sure why Boxing Day is so called but it being 'Second Christmas Day' makes sense as not everyone can celebrate Christmas with everyone on Christmas Day for various reasons.
Ironically, the preparation is more work than cooking a regular meal, as you have to cut all the meat and vegetables in smaller pieces so that they fit in the pan. Additionally, we made a buffet with lots of different salads and stuff: absolutely delicious.
More Christmas is always better! :)

The only board game I have played recently was Monopoly. I think I still have the board somewhere.
I have a total obsession with board games, I have tons of them and play them regularly. It's a great way to spend your time (and more sociable than let's say, video games), providing you have people to play with.

English class for me is different to English Class for you as for yourself it is a second language similar to French and German Class for me. English Class was something that came easy for me but Mathematics wad never my best subject.
Okay, fair enough, but I believe I had the exact same grade for Dutch, so that doesn't make a difference.

I go on holiday tomorrow so won't be on much if at all for about a week.
Cool! Where are you going? (Or probably: where are you now?)

I read your blog post. Learning a new language can be difficult. I know a bit of German other than my first language. It is good to have a second language particularly as English is very widely spoken.
My feeling for languages isn't the best, but it's very useful knowing a few of them. Without knowing English we wouldn't be having this conversation right now and it's a must for my study too. Half my classes are given in English and all books are written in it. I used to be okay with German too, but I rarely use it nowadays, so I'm not really into it anymore. (I had French too for four years in high school, but forgot all about it.)

My Christmas was mainly spent cooking Christmas Dinner. Those who didn't cook did the dishes and played with the children.

Politics? It's a tricky thing to get into and even harder to understand.

If I remember correctly science was split into three here as well. I was good at Biology, Ok at Chemistry but horrendous at Physics.

My Christmas was fun! We visited my grandparents and prepared the food for gourmetting (more work than you'd expect it to be), which we then did with two of my uncles. On Boxing Day (which we here just call Second Christmas Day), I took it easy and played board games with my parents and brothers.

Aargh... I thought I replied to your other message ages ago. Sorry.
I think a leading World Political seat is in The Hague in the Netherlands. The Dutch stereotype does indeed include Windmills, wooden clogs and cheese similar to how the British Stereotype is that we all wear bowler hats, drink tea and are unfailingly polite. (It's not true)

Hmmm. Was never the best at science at school. My best subject was English.

Yes, they do the dishes. There's only 4 of us who can cook Christmas Dinner.(My Mom, sister, aunt and me).
Hmm... You could be right about that. To be honest, I don't really care a lot about politics. It often looks like they just talk and discuss a lot, but don't actually do anything.

We didn't have a subject called "science", we had biology, physics and chemistry as separate subjects. Looks like I'm the complete opposite of you then, chemistry and mathematics were my best subjects, while English was one of my worst, as well as all the other languages. I basically learned handling the English language after my final exam, which is not the best tactic really. :P (I wrote a long blog entry about that, in case you're bored.)
