    QM: While outside of the U.S. you can (well it is accepted) use "Spelt" in the way you did, it is academically improper.

    You are right by the fact that "spelt" is a form of wheat.
    But when you look at these links, I'm sure that you
    will be both astonished and shocked.

    This is the meaning of "spelled".

    It said that "spelt" is the past participle of spell, while "spelt" and "spelled"
    have the same meanings.
    In other words, I'm right and you called the wrong person foolish.

    Go ahead and look it up. Spelt is a form of wheat. While outside of the U.S. you can (well it is accepted) use "Spelt" in the way you did, it is academically improper. The proper term to use should have been "Spelled".

    "Spelt" is a word that exists. It's another way of spelling "spelled".
