Well, bottom half xD; But they're not very lenient on truancy. My best friend missed 9 days of school in the first semester due to illness...he was promptly booted out.
50% and up is passing. Then it divides into 4 levels. 50%-60% is level 1. 60-70% is level 2. 70-80% is level 3. 80% and up is level 4. I'm standing at about 90, but that's subject to change, especially with a rough semester coming up. My time is up now, unfortunately. I'm going to to sleep and do study early tomorrow...since I pretty much didn't do any tonight o3o; -
November 25th, 2009 7:20 PMMetatronLOL, NOT CANTON.
Yeah but dude you lived in Texas before. Don't they have like, one of the worst public educational systems in all of the US? Hell, I'd be an "A" student if I went there, even with my 64% attendance /shot
Oh? I'm unfamiliar with how it works there. Isn't the grading system entirely different; like a 60% is a C, 70% is a B, 80% an A, etc? -
November 25th, 2009 7:16 PMJordanWell, they like to see commitment in what you do, so dropping things won't help xD; I thought Massachusetts was like, the open minded state :'[
Any Ontario universities would do for me...well, 4 or 5. All they look at are your grades (which I'm doing pretty well in), and perhaps glance over extracurriculars. Of course, grading here in Ontario is hellish at times. The highest average last year was an 97. The average "average" hovers around 70-something. Those average kids would definitely be at least B or A- students in the schools I went to in the states. -
November 25th, 2009 7:13 PMMetatronI'm a...decent writer, I think. Extracurricular activities? UMMM...I was in the debate club in my old school before I transferred, but all we ever actually debated there was whether marijuana should be legalized in MA...and we all pretty much agreed that it should, so there was never actually any debate going on :'D
Oh, and i was in the gay/straight alliance for like...2 weeks. Apparently joining that in my school makes you gay by default, so I was quick to drop from that >_>
...yeah, I'm screwed. What schools are you looking into? XD -
November 25th, 2009 7:07 PMJordanWeighted is when they take into account any bonus scores you get from your Honors/AP courses (like in some schools, a score from any AP classes get an automatic +1.0 in their overall score on the GPA).
Yep, legacies are to be looked at during college admissions. But BU is an immensely tough school to get into, regardless of legacies or not. Unless you have a healthy amount of extracurriculars to boot and can write amazing essays, I wouldn't be too overconfident. -
November 25th, 2009 7:04 PMMetatron...Dude, I have no idea. I'm in all either level 2, or honors classes, so I'd assume Unweighted? x_x
Meh. I can always fall back on Boston University if all else fails. It's a great school that I normally wouldn't have a chance in hell of getting accepted into...but my mom went there, both her parents did, and my cousin graduated like 6th in her class, and apparently they look at that when you apply ._.; -
November 25th, 2009 6:59 PMJordanWeighted or Unweighted. If the latter, you still have a chance. If the former...you're screwed for a state like Massachusetts.
You should have started in Sophomore year. Competition for college admissions in the States is brutal....like, really brutal. For once, I'm glad I live in Canada (b'')b -
November 25th, 2009 6:57 PMMetatronYES I'M GOING TO COLLEGE. My current GPA is 3.4
...Yeah, I'm not really sure how I managed to pull that off either x_x
I'm actually looking at colleges atm, lol. I'm still only a junior, but I mean...better to be informed this year, than rush to get things in place senior year.
