July 19th, 2011 3:51 PMSarcastic PrinceIf I finish translating, may I ask to have the thread reopened?
I'm not going to include Ash's stuff, like I've said in the signature. -
July 8th, 2011 4:36 PMcolcolstylesJust because they're different doesn't mean that they aren't similar. They are both the result of a creative decision made by the game creator(s). And your opinions on the issue of whether creative decisions should be left intact (which are apparently a little mixed) should apply to both equally. That's my opinion and you can badger me all you want but I'm sticking to it.
Whether a name is "sucky" or not is entirely subjective. And you could just as easily claim that the fact that Flying-type moves are super effective against Fighting-type pokémon was a "sucky" decision made by Game Freak. They're both subjective and if you think you should be able to change names, then I think metapod23 should be able to change the type effectiveness table. Again, that's my opinion. Notice how I go out of my way to point out the subjectivity and refrain from using words like "should," "never," or anything definitive. I suggest you do the same.
Here's what Urban Dictionary has to say. -
July 8th, 2011 4:15 PMSarcastic PrinceBut they're really two different things. Really. Type advantages/disadvantages plays a major role in PKMN games. It should never really be changed.
However, for the names, Wesley made really sucky names. I have to change them, and it seems that only you, are not satisfied with the changes.
Also, can you clearly define what "tl;dr:" means? -
July 8th, 2011 4:09 PMcolcolstylesThat's what the tl;dr section is for.
-
July 8th, 2011 4:05 PMSarcastic PrinceYou don't have to explain all those stuff to me. I understand what you're talking about. But changing type advantages/disadvantages and changing names are two different things. You cannot possibly try and pull two of these things together into one topic.
(By the way, it's totally unnecessary to post all that crap onto my profile, 'cause I won't even bother reading it) -
July 8th, 2011 4:02 PMcolcolstylesLet's go through this logically and point-by-point so that there's no room for misunderstanding or ambiguity:
1) You said "I'm opposing your opinion."
Alright, that's fine. Everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion and people's opinions often differ. Now, let's take a look at the logical implications of that statement.
2) My opinion (as stated in this post) is that the creator's game be left the way it was made.
3) Therefore, by saying that you oppose my opinion (as we established in Point 1), your opinion is the converse: it is OK to alter the creator's game.
4) Yet you said the following:
Therefore, you simultaneously believe that it is OK the alter the creator's game (Point 3) AND that it is not OK to alter the creator's game (Point 4).Originally Posted by Sarcastic Prince [ Original Post ]If Game Freak have made Electric type moves having no effect on Ground type PKMN, it should stay that way.
That's what's called a "logical fallacy".
In case that was too much for you, I'll sum it up real quick:
In truth, I have absolutely zero problem with you changing WesleyFG's work (provided you have permission, which, before you accuse me, I acknowledge that you do). My complaint is that you're a hypocrite by saying that metapod23 shouldn't change the effectiveness of Electric attacks on Ground-type pokémon on the pretense that "GameFreak made it like that" but you're changing things in Light Platinum despite the fact that "WelseyFG made it that way." Now do you see where I'm coming from?
tl;dr:
ttrrolollloloololollololllllol -
July 8th, 2011 3:37 PMSarcastic PrinceI don't care whether you're a mod or not. I still have to say this, because I'm opposing your opinion.
Do you have the right to say that? I'm the editor of his game.Originally Posted by colcolstyles [ Original Post ]And I think that if WesleyFG gave his characters certain names, they should stay that way too. But hey, what do I know?
He even gave me permission. Check the thread.
Oh, but I think that would be unnecessary, as you have already checked it by now. (Or else, I would be banned *gasp*) -
June 10th, 2011 3:35 PMSarcastic PrinceIf you check the LP thread, there's the proof. So, will you allow me to make changes to LP?
-
June 5th, 2011 6:58 PMcolcolstylesDon't worry. I already dealt with it.
For future reference, please report posts like that. It's easier to organize that way. -
June 5th, 2011 6:55 PMSarcastic PrinceDidn't you say that nobody should continue that argument?
I see somebody posting something that they shouldn't post in the LP thread. -
June 5th, 2011 6:54 PMcolcolstylesExcellent. Keep me posted. Thank you.
-
June 5th, 2011 6:51 PMSarcastic PrinceI already sent him a PM two weeks ago.
There should be proof if he logs on again. -
June 5th, 2011 6:50 PMcolcolstylesHm, how convenient. Well then, if you have no evidence that WesleyFG gave you permission to edit his hack, then you are forbidden from posting regarding your derivative work. If, as you said, you will not be posting about the English version then this shouldn't be a problem. I encourage you to keep that promise.
Personally, I recommend that you PM WesleyFG and try to get either a copy of the proof or a renewed statement of permission. And this time, try not to delete it. -
June 5th, 2011 6:43 PMSarcastic PrinceSend him a private message then. He will log on eventually to check on his thread, or simply, his hack. Where's my proof, you ask?
I deleted it.
I promise that I will not post in Wesley's thread about the English LP until Wesley logs on. When he logs on, everything will be explained. -
June 5th, 2011 6:39 PMcolcolstylesBecause WesleyFG hasn't logged on since April and I have no reliable means of communicating with him. You are an active member and you have access to the alleged proof so I made the logical decision to go through you.
I don't understand why it's so hard to get the proof. Unless, of course, it doesn't exist. I don't want to jump to conclusions but to be perfectly honest, your reluctance to show me the proof is giving me a bad impression.
