July 13th, 2010 2:02 PMMarunoAnyone here will tell you I'm not a "moron" by any stretch of the imagination. Sorry I'm not feeling quite as sociable as usual.
The main problem is that you haven't really specified anything. I know it's hard to "describe a map", but you've only now said you're using only the top left tile to erase things - that's an important point in mapping, and should have been mentioned earlier. Things being on the "correct level" doesn't mean much (I know you meant layers), because there's no "correct" way to map - as long as you can get it looking right in the end, it's correct.
Have you tried making another map similar to it, and seeing if there's a problem there or not? Sometimes individual maps go screwy. Or perhaps it's the tileset, in which case you'd have to reload it. There are several possibilities. -
July 13th, 2010 11:41 AMShadow-Lucario. . . i do have a seperate black tile that is only meant for backgrounds and it is non passable and i do erase the backgrounds with the top left tile and i have them all on the correct levels etc but i shall just ask someone else because your being blunt comes off as just being a rude moron, i asked you a simple question and even tried to be nice but all i got was you being "blunt/rude" i am still new to this whole game making thing and have read the poccil guides so i am trying so give me a break

July 13th, 2010 9:34 AMMarunoI don't see where I was rude. I was being blunt. I don't think there are any ways to say "I won't help you, even though I could if I put the effort in" without disappointing the other person. Besides, I've answered pretty much this exact question a while ago, and you haven't put the effort in to find it.
My suggestion that you learn how to use RPG Maker is still valid. Your problem is that you don't know how to use tilesets properly. You shouldn't "erase" tiles with just any blank tile - you should always use the top-left one. And always make a separate tile for the black backgrounds, which is specifically non-passable.
Oh look, I helped you anyway. See how nice I am. -
July 13th, 2010 4:32 AMShadow-Lucarioi was just trying to be nice the least you could do is to be nice back, i know that you have helped alot of people and i only asked a simple question but thanks for the rudness

July 12th, 2010 3:10 PMMarunoFirstly, a lack of punctuation and a "lol" at the end of your message do not inspire me to rush to help.
I don't know much about tilesets at the moment, so no, I can't help. That and I should be asleep by now, so I'm just not putting the effort in to finding the answer. It's a common problem for newbies, and I suggest you figure out how to use RPG Maker. -
July 11th, 2010 7:24 AMShadow-Lucariocould you help me with my problem please i have posted it in the game development help section and you always have the answers lol

January 10th, 2010 3:15 PMMarunoThey're very small, and that's Photobucket's fault. I really can't tell what they're like.
I haven't seen that first one before, though. I'm pretty sure I've seen the second one, though, and I don't think those buildings have outlines (and therefore look horrible).
Regardless, I'm not in the market for the latest tilesets at the moment. I'll sit here with my FRLG ones and see where I get for now. I may well switch tilesets later on, but that'll be much later on indeed. -
