September 19th, 2014 7:51 PMShiny BunnelbyNot really. I ran and vaulted things every now and then. I did play a mean game of volleyball when I was younger. That's pretty much it though lol.

September 19th, 2014 7:44 PMBounsweetYeah I'm with you there, I took both dance and gymnastic classes when I was little but never stuck with them. I don't think I ever really got a cartwheel mastered haha. Did you ever play any sports or anything even for leisure?

September 19th, 2014 11:33 AMShiny BunnelbyHaha! I was never athletic or coordinated enough to do those things. I was quite accident-prone for a long time.

September 19th, 2014 11:14 AMBounsweetOh we mostly behaved, but my cousins were super outgoing and had a lot of energy, so when we were cooped up inside in the winter it was always a matter of who could do the most back handsprings or cartwheels in the basement... chaotic in that sense haha.

September 18th, 2014 8:13 PMShiny BunnelbyAll I had was my older siblings (who never played with me) and my cousin.
My cousin and I normally talked about video games, or played them, or we would build things with Lego's. Aside from acting on generic childish curiosity ("Hey, let's get Play-Doh in the vents!"), we stayed out of trouble. -
September 18th, 2014 8:05 PMBounsweetI have so many cousins that when I grew up and visited family, I would be attacked for their attention, so there really wasn't much passive action going on haha. Most of the relatives we visited had finished basements that were always the kids areas while the adults stayed upstairs and it would definitely get chaotic down there.

September 18th, 2014 8:00 PMShiny BunnelbyAs a child, I was content with just sitting and listening to my family talk to one another. My daughter is absolutely my fiancé's blood. He is impatient and prefers action, not chatter. He is one chaotic gentleman.

September 18th, 2014 7:49 PMBounsweetAhaha I can imagine, restaurants would probably be nowhere near as fun for them compared to hanging out at a family member's house. My fondest memories when I was little were always the times spent with my cousins at their houses, I can't remember any fun times spent at any restaurants that weren't named Chuck E. Cheese up until my later elementary school years lol!

September 18th, 2014 7:45 PMShiny BunnelbyWe have two youngsters. My daughter and my nephew lol. They're toddlers, so being confined to a table while everyone takes ages to finish eating and talking is torture to them. Not to mention, my family is pretty big, so we would crowd a restaurant. It's madness. Lol :)

September 18th, 2014 7:34 PMBounsweetI might just be lucky enough that all of our family friends are in or approaching the senior range, so little kids aren't a hassle as much as when someone has a little too much to drink... haha :b I do like when other people get to choose though, it adds a nice variety! I would get so bored if we just went to the same old Italian restaurants all the time for example.

September 18th, 2014 1:53 PMShiny BunnelbyMy sister's wedding is this month, so we're doing a restaurant thing after it. I don't like doing gatherings at restaurants, because it's ridiculously inconvenient, especially with small kids. Otherwise, it would have been my fiancé and stepmother's choice. Next month is my dad's birthday. I'm betting it's enchiladas for his choice.

September 18th, 2014 1:19 PMBounsweetI do something really similar with my family and family friends, except whoever had a recent birthday gets to pick a restaurant and we all meet up there. I'm actually going to a restaurant this Saturday to celebrate my birthday, my mom's birthday, and two of our family friends since they've all been in the past three weeks xD A homecooked variation like yours sounds really fun, though! Much more cozy than a restaurant at least.

September 18th, 2014 12:39 PMShiny BunnelbyIt really is and the whole world should know about how wonderful it is. I think the next time my family has a gathering for my birthday, I'm going to ask for that as the meal. My family gathers at the end of every month to celebrate the holidays and birthdays it followed. Whoever has a birthday that month gets to decide the meal. Shared months usually take turns every year, or collectively agree on something.

September 18th, 2014 12:33 PMBounsweetMy boyfriend from New Jersey tried it when I took him to Cinci with me earlier this summer and he had never even heard of Cincinnati style chili before that, it's so underrated imo :(
-
September 18th, 2014 11:50 AMShiny BunnelbyI've tried it with a dash of cinnamon, but not cocoa. That's interesting. But yeah, Cincinnati chili in spaghetti with onions and cheese, too. It's effin' stupendous. :)
