January 1st, 2010 8:48 AMThe WaveCheap as in stupid items? No.
Cheap as in they don't cost much but are still awesome? Yes.
But hey, that was when I was young, now you can count on one small bag with presents for the whole family. >_>' -
December 20th, 2009 2:07 PMBHwolfgangThe presents must be really cheap, right? Three sacks?! Blasphemy!

December 20th, 2009 11:56 AMThe WaveYeah, it is. Halloween sounds so much more fun.
And Christmas has gift-giving, but it's not as much and as important as st. Nicholas. I remember those days where there were 3+ sacks full of presents..... >_>' -
December 20th, 2009 10:55 AMBHwolfgangHmm, St. Marten sounds boring. Here in the United States, we walk around, costume or not, to other people's houses to get candy. Sometimes, there are occasional egging or tricks pulled. :)
Christmas... is more like gift-giving than family-time. Gosh, I wish stuff like St. Nicholas would happen more here. -
December 20th, 2009 5:40 AMThe WaveWell, for example, there's no halloween, but instead we celebrate something called "st. marten" which looks like halloween (it is based on halloween). At that night kids go knock on the door and sing "st. maarten" songs and then get candy in exchange. They also don't dress as something and only carry a light in some sort.
An another example is "st. Nicholas" which looks a lot like Christmas. Of course there's no tree or any indication of Christmas, and it's more dedicated to kids where presents and gingernuts is given to them.
Dunno how Christmas is in other countries, but Christmas is more about being with your family. -
December 11th, 2009 2:55 PMBHwolfgangCould you list a couple?

December 5th, 2009 11:18 AMThe WaveEh, it's a shame, but there's enough holiday stuff here anyway.....
