Well, we do have other schools in our area that are K-12 all under one roof but these are huge sprawling complexes with separate wings for each level (elementary, middle, high). The building in question (where I attended) was clearly built just to handle 9-12... I don't know how it's gonna accomodate the extra grades unless my town's population has drastically shrunk in the years since I graduated (which actually is a viable possibility - there's been lots of people moving away since there's nothing left in town, and I'd like to follow suit once I find work). Still, I have this sinking feeling the fire marshal's not gonna be too happy with our superintendent (who's a bit flaky anyway )
Wow. all the teachers? Who's gonna be doing all the teaching, then?
50+ job cuts, no after-school bus runs, and they're combining the middle and high schools (which used to be two separate buildings) under one roof (the high school). That last one makes me wonder if any fire codes aren't being violated... I don't think that building's big enough for six grades...
Yeah... what really sucks is most of the companies I'm applying to don't even tell you you don't have the job... they just don't reply to you anymore... I wish they would at least tell me so I'm not feverishly checking my email for a week with no response.
I tried applying at our local school district for a summer school sub position, of course haven't heard from them. That district has gone to hell in a handbasket in the past couple years, or did I tell you about that already?
I don't mind vacations because our vacation house is newer and in much better shape than our main house... and it has A/C. Plus, we often stay at a hotel during the trip, and usually it's one I pick out so I'm sure it's not gonna be a dump xD
