Hey, colcol, can you rate some stuff? I made some new window tiles and I think they look spiffy.

I guess you are right. But I thought you'd have a reasonable hunch, that's why I asked. the tiles I've seen were repeated many times.
By the way, block 83, 8B, 93,9B, A3, and AB are examples of repeat tiles. I think you know where the numbers are. Just in case, it is right above the start bar(or whatever might be in the bottom left corner of your screen).

Tiles? I don't remember seeing duplicate tiles. I just remember that there were several of the exact same block with the exact same block data and behavior bytes so I just got rid of 'em. I'll take a look at a clean Emerald ROM some time and check it out.
As for the tileset thing, I don't really know. Yes, Emerald and Fire Red have similar engines but I would think that Emerald is closer to Ruby/Sapphire's game engine than to Fire Red's. And Ruby/Sapphire have the same thing with smaller primary tilesets and larger secondary tilesets. Don't ask me why though; I got nothin'

duplicate tiles, I don't remember seeing blocks. Now I am aware that Emerald was built on the engine of firered(from what bulbapedia said), but why is the main tileset smaller than the one on firered?
-
Well I am currently using a ROM Base which I made for Ruby and adapted to Emerald which contains a good amount of Fire Red tiles, along with a major reconstruction of the block palette. I remember going through and deleting all of the duplicate blocks to make room for new, custom ones. Are you talking about there being duplicate tiles or duplicate blocks?

If you look under the stair tiles, there are duplicate tiles. There are also "medium" sized rocks next to the actual mountain tiles. I know they are used in maps, but they are exact copies. An example is under the stair tiles.

Ooh, perfect timing. I just logged on.
What do you mean by "extra mountain tiles"?

Hey colcol, do you know what the use of the extra mountain tiles are in emerald?

Sorry I couldn't get to rating the maps, my internet screwed up.

Yeah^^
Take your time. It's better that way.

I will probably rate them later during the day. It's just too much for now. You saw how much I made when rating the last two maps, didn't you?
-
You mean the big one (Emeryville)? Well none of the maps are supposed to be "forested". That one is the more scientific/government section, the top-left is the upper-class area, the lower-left is the market area, and the lower-right is the lower-class area. I have only mapped the top two though.
You weren't planning on rating any of my maps, were you? ^^

You should take the flower animation out. For some reason, it(as in the animation) works when the background and behavior bytes are 00 and 20, but it doesn't work when you put the flowers anywhere else, keeping it the same. Just one thing to say though. Is your city map the most "forested" part of the 4?
