November 14th, 2014 12:14 PMXelaMine must be Mega Beedrill. I think he looks amazing with the monstrous attack and speed stats. Too bad he's about as frail as paper..

November 14th, 2014 12:08 PMNahI wouldn't say you're close-minded.....I'm just being a little cynical.
But out of the new megas, the ones that interest me are Mega Gallade and Mega Altaria. And you? -
November 14th, 2014 12:05 PMXelaHuh, I didn't think about it that way, actually. That would make sense.. That's what I get for being so close minded, haha. Oh well, that's just rumours I heard from people talking about it, that they just finished the engine before the game was released, thought they could've just not released a date and pushed it back a bit.
My list of games goes as follows: Sapphire > Yellow > Silver. Kinda weird way to start. Have you seen the new megas? Any favourites? -
November 14th, 2014 11:39 AMNahMaybe they did focus a lot on the engine, but part of me thinks that they purposely make the first pair of each generation lacking in (post-game) content so that they can then get more money outta us by making a 3rd version or whatever that has a lot of content. It's been like that with every generation except Gen 2.
Oh, but Sapphire was your first game? Mine was Yellow. Seems like everyone either started with R/B/Y or R/S/E lol. -
November 14th, 2014 11:31 AMXelaI heard the reason why X/Y lacked so much content was primarily because they focused a lot of their resources on the engine, which makes sense. Some parts of it still seemed a bit unfinished. And I completely agree! The more mature story in BW and BW2 made it a lot more enjoyable for me and Ghetsis actually seemed like a proper villain. The fact that he froze an entire city and actually tried to kill the player baffled me. I also really enjoyed the PWT in the post-game. It was quite different from a Battle Frontier or a Battle Tower and it was nice to see familiar faces from the other games.
The main reason to why I'm so excited for ORAS is mainly the features that you mentioned. The wild Pokémon with rare moves, the move tutors returning, all of that jazz will really help push the competitive scene and hopefully make several Pokémon more viable. In terms of storyline, I know what you mean. You're basically just replaying through the same storyline with the same characters with little to no difference. Hopefully the newly announced Delta episode will add something to the remake?
Sapphire was actually my first Pokémon game that I've ever played but I'm not going to get ORAS for the nostalgia. I like being excited for the actual features that's going to be released with it. And that's cool! I'm planning to get Omega Ruby. We should add each other whenever it's out! Maybe do a few battles as well~ /walloftext -
November 14th, 2014 11:14 AMNahI really do hope that ORAS has good post-game content, because that's always a big thing for me, and why I was a bit disappointed with X/Y (though I should've seen it coming). There are some things I am looking forward to, like the new flying feature, the return of the Black2/White2 move tutors, and the inclusion of so many legendaries, but I guess another part of why I'm not THAT excited for ORAS is because it's a remake, which inherently limits what they can do with the story and characters. For a long time I've wanted Pokemon to have a really good, possibly mature story, and the only time we got a taste of that was in Black/White (and it was sad to see that X/Y took a step backwards in regards to story after what we got in Gen5). Since ORAS is a remake, we're just gonna get the same thing in that regard as we did in Ruby/Sapphire, and the R/S story and characters weren't exactly my favorite. Also I think that a lot of people are hyped for ORAS because it was their first Pokemon game/nostalgia, which doesn't apply to me since I'm old.
ANYWAY, I'm gonna get Alpha Sapphire. -
November 14th, 2014 11:02 AMXelaAa, that's understandable. It's not fun to have high expectations of something just to get disappointed by it when it's released. Personally I'm hyped about it because it seems like it'll have what XY lacked in terms of gameplay, which is post-game content. Only thing I was able to do was breed and a little bit of competitive before it became stale. Which version are you planning to get?~

November 14th, 2014 10:40 AMNahI wouldn't say I'm hyped for ORAS. It's hard for me to get excited about most things these days. I like to keep my expectations low because I used to have they too high. Still gonna buy it anyway though.
