Ah cool, good luck with the set-up! Currently near the ocean myself too.

Well, we got done with the move and we're setting up the house! It's very humid here, so that's something to get used to, but it's pretty cool here being close to the ocean, and getting to know a new place.

If you want to know specifically, then you would use high school/college/university, or something along those lines, but if you already know how far the education is, then people tend to just use school as a blanket term for it.

And I'm sure you'll find something soon!

I see. What is that state like? And good luck to the both of you with it.

How do you distinguish between primary/high school and uni then? Curious that school applies to all three, when the first two is for one's necessary education, and the other pay for a degree, or get paid for research/doing a higher degree like in my case.

I wish it is as easy as that; have had a few interviews but no luck so far. I'll just have to keep trying though.

We're going to be in Virginia, and he's definitely just ready to be done with the process, haha. He's been stressing about the house because the sellers are dragging their feet with everything, but hopefully they're almost done.

You can use either term here, haha. And I'm sure you'll be able to land whatever you want with your resume.

Ah, cool! How is Geoff doing? And where is here?

We call it uni here, not school. =p Plus I have been paid for it (although money runs out soon... so I am keen to finish!). Plans after is to either get a job in academia (research) or if not then try for some computational work in e.g. data science. Easier said than done though.

I'm going to be moving in with Geoff, as he's buying a house and offered me a room. He's flying out here and we're going to take a cross country road trip together, stopping and doing various things along the way.

It seems like you've been in school forever, haha. But yay! What are your plans after the PhD?

    Big changes such as? :B

Busy as heck. Last couple months (ideally) of the PhD, and this week moved back to the parents' place as well. All over the place.

Well, it's gone back down to normal now. If that happened for the entire week, I think I would have had a heart attack, haha.

Nothing better for the pizza business than power failures for everyone else, haha. Lots of pizza there! Maybe afterward it'll be quiet because people would get sick of pizza. But maybe that's a blasphemous statement. =p

Out store didn't lose power, but nearly everywhere else did. Pizza tripled in sales on Tuesday and Wednesday, while coffee quadrupled on Wednesday, and I'm probably looking at three and a half hours of overtime, so I was busy! My apartment lost power for a little while, but it came back up within a couple hours of being home, so that wasn't bad. Some houses really suffered some damage, and one was even cut in half from a tree falling down, but thankfully it seemed not a lot of people were hurt.

    Hopefully!

Glad I didn't lose power otherwise I wouldn't have been able to do observing! Hope you didn't suffer much from that. And yes, it was tiring but hopefully useful!

We just got done having a wind storm with 70 miles per hour gusts that snapped several power lines, so several people have no power. It sounds like we're both having crazy weather! But that's awesome with the observation. Sounds tiring, but yay for research!
