Nothing better for the pizza business than power failures for everyone else, haha. Lots of pizza there! Maybe afterward it'll be quiet because people would get sick of pizza. But maybe that's a blasphemous statement. =p
Out store didn't lose power, but nearly everywhere else did. Pizza tripled in sales on Tuesday and Wednesday, while coffee quadrupled on Wednesday, and I'm probably looking at three and a half hours of overtime, so I was busy! My apartment lost power for a little while, but it came back up within a couple hours of being home, so that wasn't bad. Some houses really suffered some damage, and one was even cut in half from a tree falling down, but thankfully it seemed not a lot of people were hurt.
We just got done having a wind storm with 70 miles per hour gusts that snapped several power lines, so several people have no power. It sounds like we're both having crazy weather! But that's awesome with the observation. Sounds tiring, but yay for research!
I think I have mentioned it in a previous discussion, haha.
It went alright. Got 6 hours on my bonus source, so when I get the data I'll check it out! And a bit on yet another source as well... But boy was I tired. All up being in charge of a semi-active back up I had 24 hours of observing that weekend. @_@ And between I was cleaning up from the hailstorm that had occurred at my parents' place as well. And right after the conference. And despite finishing that and the day-long workshop yesterday I went and did karate in warm weather because I am crazy! \o/
On the results of a survey I helped observe/analysis the data for the second half (the first half published already). Search for HI (neutral hydrogen) in "nearby" compact radio galaxies to learn more about how newly triggered/restarted radio galaxies affect their environments. My poster is also on it!
I kinda will! There's a day-long workshop after the conference back in my home office, and then on the weekend belated seconady birthday event with friends from high school (some have work others have uni exams now, so last weekend or even this one was/is not a good time). And we'll be seeing the Pokemon Orchestra concert at the Sydney Opera House. Aw yeaaaaaaah.
After that back to focusing on editing my first first-author paper! :B
It would still be a challenge! I have exam/assignment marking all day tomorrow, meeting on Thursday, my 'annual progress review' Friday, this poster to finish off and print, the sparkler presentation for it to actually do as well, haircut to get, etc. And my attempt at Nano (pfft). Plus because I'm a sucker for punishment I'm going to apply for ~extra~ observing on the weekend on the off-chance I get it to help confirm a result. In the early morning hours. WHOOPS. :V
So yeah, not getting the talk (as it appears) isn't too bad given this busier-than-usual week, haha.
Heh, of course. I wouldn't mind talking too much, but having to throw together a talk (even if it would be a short one) would be the annoying bit just because I'm busy with other things as well (like that poster!).
That said judging by a version of the agenda looks like the talk may have been dropped entirely. :< Oh well!
