Nope haha. I don't watch that much, I just kind of stumbled upon it on the Madman showroom (they put 2 episodes of a random anime a month). I found Birdy the Mighty there too. That's pretty damn awesome as well.
I can find it. I am pretty anime fan so I go out of my way to watch it. I'll add to my list to watch. I am currently watching Stein's Gate. I am not sure if you heard of that one. My friend recommended to me. Pretty awesome so far and I only watched like 5 episodes.
omg xamd is one of the coolest animes i have ever seen. i very much suggest you watch it. i can link you to uploaded videos if you dont live in the states (since its free to watch on some... thing. crunchyroll? anime news network? something)
oh, my favourite part of super powers is how unbelievable unstable they are. how one accident can cause a chain reaction of accidents. the loss of identity and being consumed by the power. with oakley, because of her nature, she's going to have an accident. and once her 'power' consumes her, she'll be mindless. and it will be fun. so much fun.
i guess that's why i like the concept of werewolves and xam'd so much. you lose your identity and you have to get it back.
To be fair, the explosion would come from a lack of control, not cause of mastering it.
But I see what you mean though. You used that explanation for Broken if I remember correctly so I have an handle on what you mean.
I think the appeal of superhero roleplays comes from the fact people want to experience the thrill of having a power though, so having a solid grip on the power is half the fun. Having to struggle with them is a great starting part, but I see getting old when you have to consciously hold back to document the characters attempt to gain a grip on the power and utilize it properly. Development is fun and all, but it can get redundant when you have to think of ways to show the increasing control. That is my whole perspective on superpowers. Struggle is the starting point for all great characters, but sometimes it is more fun to skip to the end and backtrack later.
With Christian, I see him gaining control rather well because of his more serious nature. He isn't one to fool around so one can imagine he would go out of his way to get some sort of grip on it. Of course, it won't be flawless. I do have plans to show the slip ups in not turning into a cloud of smoke or having an arm or two turn into smokey appendages like a tentacle monster.
i think when people are in superhero roleplays, some people tend to 'master' their power too quickly. im not talking about you, haha, im talking about people in general.
i think of superpowers as a third invisible and intangible arm; you cant feel it, you cant see it so how do you even know its there? most people stumble upon it by accident or during an emotional time as adrenaline does funny things to your body. thats what i think anyway.
with oakley though, she wont be able to control it at all. its all very much reliant on her emotions, which are unstable as it is, the neurotic little girl. d:
Yeah, we had a discussion over skype about it. Definitely just about a week, maybe a week and a half we decided. Enough time for something to go wrong, but not enough time for anyone to 'master' or really have any control over their abilities.
Awesome. Ichiro did it make sound like the Atlantis people were around for a few years (especially considering they have embassies everywhere) so I wrote with that assumption. Thanks for clearing it up haha
