November 25th, 2008 12:07 PMAurafireHm....Well, that's up to Angela I suppose, but my guess would be once you have improved on all the areas you selected on the entry form, you should be able to graduate =P

November 25th, 2008 12:04 PMBanjora MarxvileNow, a final question. How do I prove that I think I can graduate from the Academy? I don't think so yet, but its worth knowing.

November 25th, 2008 12:01 PMAurafireJust glad I can help ^____^

November 25th, 2008 12:00 PMBanjora MarxvileThank you. You're a good tecaher.

November 25th, 2008 11:59 AMAurafireAwesome! Good luck with all that breeding =P
-
November 25th, 2008 11:58 AMBanjora MarxvileOK, thanks. Now that my IV questions are answered, that may help!

November 25th, 2008 11:57 AMAurafireWelllll....That is the best way to do it. If you want to do a quick check, look at smogon's strategy pokedex. You can see what each pokemon's max stat is based on their base stats. So for example, if you know you've maxed out your salamence's attack with a beneficial nature and it's attack stat is 404, you can look at what it's absolute max stat is for attack, which is 405. That means your Salamence has 30 attack IVs, because if it had 31 it would have maxed attack. Other than that quick reference, there's really no other way to tell besides calculating them.

November 25th, 2008 11:52 AMBanjora MarxvileI get it. Right, that makes sense. Time for another question and will be the last today.. How else can you check IV's accurately other than an IV battle then calculate?
-
November 25th, 2008 11:51 AMAurafireYupyup....That's pretty much how it works =P

November 25th, 2008 11:49 AMBanjora MarxvileYes. So if I wanted a baby Misdreavus with High Sp.Atk IVs, I need to breed a gengar with high Sp.Atk IVs and a Misdreavus with the same for more chance, right?
-
November 25th, 2008 11:48 AMAurafireAwesome. Next you need to check IVs, which you can do with Metalkid's IV calc.
Basically, there's a chance that one or both of the parents will pass down their IVs to the bred pokemon. So say you had a pokemon with 31 IVs in HP. If you breed it with another pokemon, there's a chance that the baby with have 31 HP IVs as well. This chance becomes greater if both pokemon have a high IV. So if both parents had 31 HP IVs, there's a better chance that it'll be passed down.
If you want to breed for specific IVs, you need to make sure that the parents have high IVs in the stats you want. And hopefully, after a decent amount of tries, the baby will have the IVs too. For instance, if you want a baby with high attack and speed IVs, you'll need two parents with preferably high IVs in both those stats, that way there's a better chance that the IVs will be passed down. Make sense? -
November 25th, 2008 11:37 AMBanjora MarxvileYes. IV's = Individual Values... They affect stats. More IV's = better. Breeding, yes I do.
-
November 25th, 2008 11:36 AMAurafireWell no...I can't write an IV breeding guide. That would take much too long. But I can tell you how to do it. First of all, you know what IVs are and how to breed, right?
-
November 25th, 2008 11:22 AMBanjora MarxvileYour student here! Can you make a guide on IV breeding or something like that please?
-
November 23rd, 2008 11:48 AMBanjora MarxvileThanks. If I don't have pokerus, that only makes me gain 5 EV's. Lucky I have a pokerus carrier.
