August 24th, 2011 2:16 AMGymnotideI feel like I'd need a few backup plans, just 'cause. Pre-med is just so discouraging sometimes, though I'm not too worried about the grades--it's just the whole environment of it.

August 23rd, 2011 9:44 PMAmaruukI really only found my true calling and developed a game plan within the last year or so, but I've been in college for about four years now. College (and young adulthood in general) is as much about feeling around and figuring out what you want out of life as it is about taking steps to attain it. That takes longer for some than it does for others. As for me right now, I'm in full-on go-get-'em mode. >:3

August 23rd, 2011 9:21 PMGymnotideOoh are you going to spiff it up with awesome web-design skills? Ah, you sound so figured out omg XD I have no idea what I'm doing in college haha
-
August 23rd, 2011 9:14 PMAmaruukWell, I'm required by my school to get a domain name and set up a full portfolio site when I'm near graduation. Basically it will be the central hub of everything I have now and a way to present it professionally. Also my resume and things like that will be on it.

August 23rd, 2011 8:52 PMGymnotideI end up writing more than 90% of other Tumblr users and i never reblog macro posts so my blog ends up not looking like anyone elses' heh. I haven't found equilibrium in what to post and when, though, but I also don't really need that. What are you going to use your website for? ;D

August 23rd, 2011 8:26 PMAmaruukI gotta say I love me some crispy, clean type.
Lol, I made an account on Tumblr but I haven't touched it at all. As of now I think the whole idea of having everything in one place is cool in theory, but in practice it's like a tornado sucked up all the stuff-posting networks and made a giant mess. I'm going to have my own website within a year where I'll be keeping everything anyway, and until then I have all the other places I use and tie them all to my blogs so it's good enough for now.
Gosh I went off on a tangent X3 -
August 22nd, 2011 10:18 PMGymnotideHaha you have such a clean typeface now :3
I've been alwight. I'm not as active on PC as I was ever. I occupy myself with Tumblr now :D -
August 22nd, 2011 10:05 PMAmaruukLol, really? I've been more or less active for a few months now X3
How've you been? -
August 22nd, 2011 9:39 PMGymnotideomg Kinarii, how I missed you so.
-
August 20th, 2010 6:14 PMAmaruukWell I'm in art 'cause I can't dedicate myself to anything else, even though I like a good bit of other stuff. Mostly science-related.
-
August 20th, 2010 6:08 PMGymnotideI'm not going to be going into art so I feel more inclined to focus on other things. I don't really have the dedication :(

August 20th, 2010 9:12 AMAmaruukI've been in college for three years. That's largely why I don't crank out finished art pieces very often. Maybe like one big painting or something every month or three. The overwhelming majority of my hobby art is doodles, sketches and some unfinished paintings, and isn't of the polished caliber I'd like it to be so that I can say it's gallery-worthy. That stuff tends to get compiled into sketch dumps so at least I can show the folks of dA that I do indeed draw all the time/haven't fallen off the planet.

August 20th, 2010 8:57 AMGymnotideI'm going to be starting college in less than a week's time so I don't think I'll have much time (or supplies) to do any art at all heh. I'm okay with that sort of, since I'm more of a hobbyist anyway.

August 20th, 2010 8:30 AMAmaruukI stopped caring about trite Pokemon spriting very quickly. I think I did one fusion and a couple trainers before going 'this is lame' and started pixeling my own stuff, and did quite a number of things in I think 06/07. Then I went on a couple-year hiatus from it until the contest made a return last spring and basically gave me an excuse to make pixel art again. I still do it only rarely though, pretty much just for the contests since I'm more focused on my other media as well as schoolwork.

August 20th, 2010 8:07 AMGymnotideYeah, I remember way back when... Except I didn't post back then either. I only ever draw a new picture every 2 weeks and yet my thread stays on the first page, within the top 8 at least. What's up with that? -__-
Pixel art is hit-or-miss for me. It's really interesting how you can make something so small look so alive. Ugh, I never even got past the anti-aliasing step. I used to sprite on a different forum a long time ago and looking back on those sprites, I wasn't really the best XD My splices look so silly. I did pull out a good few scratches and fossil recolors, though.
