August 30th, 2009 8:43 PMLuckYou made that tree?
Looks pretty nice, maybe you should try pixel art.
I still prefer the original tiles for the simple fact that they are very easy to use, and require no effort on my part(except for those windows, I'm keeping them because I liked 'em.) Nintendo can make a flawed game, but they can make great art. -
August 30th, 2009 8:32 PMcolcolstylesEh, I only used that tileset because I made that tree. I refuse to use anything that wasn't made by either Nintendo® or myself. That's why I always use standard tiles, with the sole exception being Emeryville (the "mega-city" ^^).
I think that, if used correctly, the standard tiles are just fine (and even better than some custom tiles) but because a lot of people misuse them, and misuse them over and over again, people start to get tired of them. -
August 30th, 2009 8:29 PMLuckOh, I guess I'd have more of a use for that, since I have like 235341415 maps on the MRT.
I noticed that you used a different tileset in your mega-city. Am I the only one who prefers the original tileset over the others? -
August 30th, 2009 8:26 PMcolcolstylesYeah. Plus, I don't actually have that many maps to showcase. A lot of my "good" ones were made a long time back when I prioritized natural mapping. All I really have is the one I submitted to the Get-Together competition, that town in the MotW thread and maybe that one underwater map I posted. That's pretty much it, unfortunately :(

August 30th, 2009 8:16 PMLuckSeriously?
That sucks. -
August 30th, 2009 8:14 PMcolcolstylesMeh, I thought about it once. But then I saw someone else do the same thing and there's a maximum file size so I'd have to shrink the maps, probably to the point where you couldn't see the details of the map D:

August 30th, 2009 11:48 AMLuckHey colcol, why don't you have an album with all your maps in it?
I'm planning on doing that as soon as I find all of my MRT maps. -
August 28th, 2009 12:49 PMLuckThat was actually my second thread. Both of them were questions about the community.
And I should have a luck emblem, cause I'm cool like that :D -
August 27th, 2009 9:59 PMcolcolstylesAw, thanks ^_^
I'm trying to think of an emblem that would fit you but I don't know which one is best. Do they have one for FF obsessed people? xD
I just noticed that you created your first thread recently. Congratulations! You managed to hold out even longer than I did^^ -
August 27th, 2009 4:00 PMLuckI really don't think you were ever in your newbie days.
You were professional ever since you started.
Oh right, it was @ your emblem. -
August 27th, 2009 3:43 PMcolcolstylesWell, you'll get an emblem, that's for sure. It's just kind of an unorthodox method of obtaining one. Whatever floats your boat...
-
August 27th, 2009 3:04 PMLuckI'm going to get an emblem soon enough too.
Imma ask lightning if I can be a mod :P -
August 27th, 2009 1:21 PMcolcolstylesYou can bet your gosh-darned rear end I did! Golly I sure am happy! =)
-
August 27th, 2009 12:30 PMLuckOMGWTFBBQ you got an emblem!
-
August 26th, 2009 1:27 PMLuckTo each his own I guess. I never use rocks when they are connected to each other. If they are bunched, then I just replace them with the big mountains. But the rules of mapping are never set in stone. We'll just change as soon as we see an awesome map on the MRT, or at least alter :P
