I try to limit the amount of times I watch Network so that it always has the air of freshness every time I do end up watching it. Comedies, however, I can watch into the ground and still laugh at. (Annie Hall and Blazing Saddles are probably my most-watched films of all time because of this.) And yeah: classic Allen >>> recent Allen.

I'm surprised that honor doesn't belong to Network, considering the amount of times you've pulled the 'Mad as hell' quote out of your arse and used it, lol.
Okay, good. It'll be nice to finally watch classic Woody Allen instead of the stuff of his recent years, which I'm not that fond of.

Annie Hall's one of my favourite films of all time. So... no pressure! However, the first time I saw it I really disliked it - mainly because it was like nothing I'd seen before. By the second time I saw it, I got what it was trying to do; by the third time, I started to appreciate the jokes a lot more... and before you know it, it's probably my most-viewed film ever!

Speaking of Allen, have you seen Annie Hall? I've never gotten around to seeing it and I'd prefer to have your opinion before I jump into something I have a feeling I might not like.

I saw him less playing an Owen Wilson-role and more playing a Woody Allen surrogate: kvetchy, Jewish, neurotic etc. At that role, I thought he was one of the better surrogates in a while. It's been a while, but I think my favourites were the Fitzgeralds: I really like Tom Hiddleston and Allison Pill, and thought they really did well in their limited roles.

Ah, okay. What'd you think of Owen Wilson in the film? I wanted to like him, but too much of his characteristic Owen Wilson-ness got in the way for me to truly enjoy him. Though, I loved Kathy Bates, even though her role wasn't too hard to play.

I have indeed. Not the biggest fan, but I'm aware I'm in the minority.
