January 20th, 2013 6:14 AMU.FlameBasically, yes. Your hacks are yours to make. There is no universal opinion that decides what's good and what isn't so no hack is actually terrible.
My hack hasn't been posted here yet, I'll post it when I have significant progress.
I've actually tried to assemble a team here to work on a seperate project of mine: expanding 3rd generation's multiplayer capabilities. But no one volunteered so that's on hold. -
January 20th, 2013 5:19 AMTcoppySo I can make the most horrible hack ever and if I think it's good nobody's opinions will matter? Also, I never seen you make a hack.
-
January 19th, 2013 3:52 PMU.FlameIf you think your hack is good, then that's enough. Make what you think is good, because you can't please everybody.

January 19th, 2013 3:43 PMTcoppySo I can make the most horrible hack ever and no-one's opinion will matter? Good to know.
-
January 19th, 2013 3:39 PMU.FlameThat's where I disagree. Positive reception is always nice but public opinion shouldn't dictate a hack. If I include something in my hack that is important to me, it doesn't matter if everyone bashes that decision. I'll still go through with it because I want to.
-
January 19th, 2013 3:33 PMTcoppyOkay but people in general, people want something in a hack, so you have to care what people think of your hack or they'll bash it.
-
January 19th, 2013 3:20 PMU.FlameSorry, I wasn't clear about the story based thing. I meant to say it's one of the few hacks I like because of the gameplay rather than story. I didn't mean the game itself isn't story based, I meant I liked it for reasons other than the story.
Also, I could be wrong, but I believe the mods allow hacks to be posted based on forum rules and the post's complience with regulations, not the hack itself. I don't think they'd reject posting a new hack based on their opinion of the hack itself. -
January 19th, 2013 11:56 AMTcoppyI didn't say Light Platinum was better than hacks with great stories.I meant it was one of my favorites that isn't story based. Like I said, my opinion doesn't reflect everyone else's opinion so I can't say why it's this popular. Your opinion is yours; if you don't like it, that's your opinion. We can't all agree to like the same thing.I agree that we can't all agree to like the same thing and that your opinion doesn't reflect on others but I didn't say anything about people not being entitled to their opinion. Light Platinum had a story and was actually based on the story but all the other stuff was just icing on the cake so you can't say it's not story-based because it obviously is.
One more thing: a reason you quit is because of people's opinions? I already said your hack is dedicated to you. Who cares about what people think? Make what you want to make.Actually a reason was Light Platinum's popularity alone but I agree with people making hacks dedicated to themselves. Plus you have to care about what the mods think because they decide if your hack is good or not to be put up on the board to be judged by others. Mods are people too. -

January 17th, 2013 4:34 PMTcoppyAlso, hackers don't dedicate hacks to you, they dedicate it to themselves. Different hackers respond to criticism differently, but their hack is made with their best interests in mind. It's up to hackers to decide if their hack is decent or not. If voters think these awesome hacks are awesome, so be it.You do know I was trying to make my post kinda funny at the end, right?
Also:
In my personal opinion, Light Platinum had outstanding maps. Not just in graphics, but in design. It also had a brilliant variety of Pokemon and a challenging difficulty. Only thing is, I couldn't get the story, seemed too generic. Normally I care more about story than anything, but Light Platinum's brilliance makes an exception here. This is also why I quit hacking, you couldn't even get the storyline but it's "brilliance" makes an exception? This hack is the most popular hack I've seen but just because of the design. Popularity doesn't beat a good fresh storyline.
Anything? -

August 9th, 2011 11:29 AMU.FlameThe same rule applies here. Get to know people on the forums for a while, I haven't met any of my Pokecommunity friends in real life but we're still friends because we know each other here.
