October 11th, 2011 4:16 PMMasaraUnfortunately for me, the books in the US are imported from Japan so they normally cost about $12 when they're brand-new. And that drives me crazy 'cause the price in Japanese on the back of the books is always something around 438 Yen. XD You're so very lucky!
Classical Chinese sounds like the most daunting of those three. D8 I think looking at that much kanji for such a long period of time would make me start hyperventilating. -
October 9th, 2011 5:29 PMRu-KunI wonder how much they cost at that store in the US? They are SOOOOOOO cheap here!!! All the manga are!!! This one was only 438 Yen. Thats like $5!
Well in Japanese class right now they are studying modern Japanese, Classical Japanese, and Classical Chinese (So its ALL Kanji). -
October 9th, 2011 5:09 PMMasaraDang, the Japanese students don't even understand Japanese classes? >:o That sounds way tougher than I originally thought.
Aw, kanji is the nemesis of Japanese learners everywhere. :C
Haha, nice! You should buy a bunch more! :D
There's actually a chain of stores in the U.S. that sells PokeSpe in original Japanese. I've been to quite a few of those stores and over time I've managed to buy 21 volumes. But I purchased 'em completely out of order; the only arcs I completed are Gold/Silver/Crystal and Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. XD -
October 5th, 2011 3:49 AMRu-KunOh and I went to the cd/book/dvd store on sunday and bought Pokemon Special Volume 30. (I literally haven't read any of this arc at all...) I can see myself buying a bunch of them before I leave. XP

October 2nd, 2011 12:30 AMRu-KunWell a foreigner obviously wouldn't be able to understand the Japanese class, because the Japanese students don't even. English is obviously very easy. I actually kind of understand science because there are a lot of diagrams. I understand math when the teacher is writing stuff on the board and going through it step by step, but when it comes to a problem....I'm usually lost (Its just a bunch of kanji that I have't learned yet with a number or two thrown in the middle). I can't understand social studies or history that much either. So...I'm okay in English, P.E., Home Ec., Language Lab (another English class), Music, a little Geology, and a little math.

October 1st, 2011 3:17 PMMasaraAw man, that's so ridiculously awesome~! I would've replied earlier if I didn't have so much homework, sorry.
Okinawa looks like a beautiful place to stay! If you can, say hello to your host family for me. c:
Ah, I see. Is first year difficult for you too, or can you understand most of what's going on? I'm curious 'cause I think you and I are more or less on the same level of Japanese.
Of course you look cool in it! 8D Eep, track and field day sounds scary. How did it go? -
September 21st, 2011 12:50 AMRu-KunI've been here since august 22 and I arrived at my host family's house the 27th. We live in Okinawa so there are lots of beaches and THE OCEAN!!! I have an older brother and sister, mother and father. School is ok I guess. They moved me back a grade so it wouldnt be as tough. So I'm a first year (10th grade) even though in America I'm a Junior (11th grade). Tomorrow we have a track and fireld day. I'm exited. Yes I think I look prety cool in my uniform.

September 16th, 2011 8:38 PMMasaraRu! Ruuu! -superhyperglomp- It's been quite a while.
Wait, you're in Japan?! Man, that's amazing! How's school? What's your host family like, if you have one? Do you look as cool in a Japanese school uniform as I imagine you do? I could ask you about a hundred or more similar questions, so I'll shut up now. -
September 9th, 2011 4:50 PMRu-KunHi Masa!!! Log time no...talk. :) So I'm in Japan right not.

March 18th, 2011 3:53 AMRu-Kunごめなさい! とっても忙しかった. はい, かのじょは可愛い. ぼくはらいがっきに日本にいって,りゅうがっくせいくなる!!! 日本に行のがとってもたのしみ!!!
Ok the rest I can't really do in Japanese right now. OK so my foreign exchange friend told me what organization she used so I registered with that organization to go to Japan. So now I am 3rd on a waiting list for a host family to go to Japan. Hopefully I will get one. My admissions counselour seems really confident that I will get one. As long as I get a host family, I will be able to go and I will leave this August and stay for 6 months! So that's why I have been so busy. I need to finish both volumes of Genki before I go so I've been studying everyday. I also need to finish the Michel Thomas Japanese CDs. -
