They cant infract you unless they can prove you were flaming or trolling someone. This is indeed not the case here, as all of your posts have been very well versed and calm-minded.
There isn't a need to fear the staff. Doing so only inflates their arrogance. Some staff members here tend to bleed that out of places which are best left unmentioned ;)
By the way, I've got a spotless record. I've never been infracted for anything, and I can be a positive thorn in the staff's side at times. -
February 17th, 2009 10:05 PMAgent CobaltI'd like to respond to you, and I wish the topic wasn't closed, but I won't continue out of fear of being reprimanded again for writing in an assertive yet (in my view) respectful and clearly written way. I have to be extremely careful now because apparently I can get an infraction just by saying something someone doesn't agree with or like, or at least that's how it seems for now. Anyway, thanks for the response.

People who are far left or right tend to tick me off at times because I know they aren't listening to the other side properly. I'm generally conservative but I dont think that McCain should have resorted to dredging up Obama's past. As for Palin, Even when they announced her nomination, and before I heard a single bit of anti-Palin drivel, I was against her. I felt that McCain could have put a little more thought into selecting his VP and went with someone a little more like him rather than trying to win votes by choosing someone who obviously is a completely different type of conservative than he was. What made it worse was the lack of seriousness in any of her speeches. My opinion of Palin was set in stone way before the media drew the proverbial guns and fired upon her.
Palin was the Deal-Breaker for me to be honest. I knew Obama would be a little too left for my tastes, but when I saw how stupidly carefree Palin acted at times, It made me wonder. What made it worse was the apparent lack of co-ordination between McCain and Palin. Palin would say one thing and then McCain would say something totally opposite.
As for the claims about Obama having ties to terrorists and other criminals and whackos in his past, I belive they're all BS. I could easily say you're buying into the whole conservative media spin on things.
That's why I had no problem in pressing the 'Obama' button when I voted. I felt that Obama couldn't be worse than Bush Jr. (who actually had ties to the Oil Industry, who is to say he wasnt influenced by them?)
Obama may not be the perfect person. Nobody is. For a conservative to stoop so low as to spread lies about their opponent, it puts me off, because no god fearing man should ever bear false witness against another. Gossip of that kind also angers me because I firmly belive that the Past is the Past. What someone has done in the past doesnt matter unless it's obvious there's a pattern of unwanted and unaddressed behavior going on. Based upon what I've seen of the arguments against Obama, it all seems like a feeble attempt to discredit him because he has the support of many.
What the majority wants, is what the majority gets, and only time can prove that the majority is wrong. It is also said that the winning teams write the histories, and that is definitely true in this case.
I understand your frustration at Obama's election. I myself dont belive that he will be able to solve the problem. I also dont think he can do much worse than McCain could do. The election was far too polarized. It was either pick a 'Do little or nothing' president or pick the one who would 'Do as much as he could'. I cant say I always agree with Obama on certain policies but I dont think his ideas are useless.
