August 29th, 2008 4:36 PMPOKEMON_MASTER_0Huh...That is weird. (the Waters of Nazareth thing). I wish we had a gaming club where I am. Actually, we do, but it's filled with Magic the Gathering and Dungeons and Dragons players. I'm not into that sort of stuff. I'd rather play video games than card games.
Alright, this is annoying. This guy is sending me message after message about this "new" forum. He's frikkin' spamming my inbox! I can't reply to him and I can't leave a visitor message. I'm wondering...is there any way to block users? *goes to check*
EDIT: Yes! He just got banned. -
August 29th, 2008 4:30 PMtxteclipseThere's an anime club at the college I'm going to, and a gaming club. So I'm hoping there will be at least a few girls in those that are somewhat geeky and would consider Latias cute. That may convince my roommate that pokemon isn't so bad, if he's initially of that opinion. XD Although I really don't think he'll care. The people there seem fairly laid-back about others' tastes.
Tangents aside, the weird thing about me listening to "Waters of Nazareth" this morning was that I couldn't hear it when I started snapping my fingers. So I was literally copying the tempo while in another room. It was downright eerie. -
August 29th, 2008 4:23 PMPOKEMON_MASTER_0Wahoo indeed. The sooner they do it, the better. Actually, the last time I was getting blood drawn, there was this little girl parading around the waiting room, bragging to everybody about how she was going to get her blood drawn. As soon as she saw the needle, her attitude did a complete 180. She was screeming, her mom had to hold her down...it was a mess. I think that she might have wanted to put it off a few days, lol.
Yeah, you told me that you're majoring in mechanical engineering. Fifteen days though...that should be interesting. I mean...I've never been to college before (obviously) so I don't know what it's like. And it's funny. Around my school, Pokemon is considered "retro", almost cool. Although not that many people are into Pokemon, a lot of them sport old T-shirts back from the ninties that feature Ash and Misty.
I bet that your roomate would understand once you explained it to him. Now if you plastered the walls with Latias pics, I could understand if he'd be creeped out. A few shouldn't hurt though, lol. -
August 29th, 2008 4:13 PMtxteclipseWell, they decided to draw blood today instead of next Tuesday. Wahoo, right? It hurt, but it wasn't too bad. I would liken it to being shot by a mid-powered airsoft gun, except the pain went away a little faster.
I forgot to mention before that I'm going to college in fifteen days. Majoring in Mechanical Engineering, but I think I did tell you that part. It's going to be interesting...I don't know how my roommate will react to my obsession with pokemon fanfiction. He'll get over it, I guess. It's not like I'll be hanging pictures of pokemon on the walls...Latias maybe, but only if they're drawings I've done in Drawing class. Lol. -
August 29th, 2008 12:46 PMPOKEMON_MASTER_0Ah, blood draws. From my experience they aren't too bad. I have to do them monthly because of the medication I'm on. The needle doesn't hurt that much. Stings for a bit...but other than that it isn't too unbearable. I think waiting for the needle to go in is actually worse than the needle itself. I have to say though, I'm not a big fan of doctors either.
And I have certain words that I get hung up on as well...some of my favorites are "also", "as well", "surprised", and "that".
I myself always listen to "Genesis" as I'm eating my morning banana and I have a tendency to step in place with the music. I also sometimes clap my hands along with the handclaps in the song, so I don't think your thing is too weird. I just hope for my sake that the neighbors can't see in my window, lol. -
August 29th, 2008 10:49 AMtxteclipse*Well I'll see you later and may your pencil stay sharp and may your pen stay...um...ink-filled! (that sounded...odd)*
I've tried variations of that, but you've finally helped me come up with a good version: "May your pencil and wits stay sharp!" I usually try something with a pen, and it doesn't work.
Anyways, I have a doctor's appointment today. I despise them. I've only had like seven or eight in my entire life, so I guess I'm a little more sensitive to them than most people. Then I get to go back and have blood drawn on Tuesday of next week, which I have never had happen. I'm a little worried.
In other news, I've been thinking lately that I repeat things a lot. Like saying "anyways" or "in other news" to start a new paragraph. I even get the feeling when I'm writing...it's like I use certain words over and over, chapter after chapter. Or not necessarily the exact same words, but it's like I do things the same. For instance, I always have at least one person being really surprised by something in each chapter. It's weird. I would acredit it to just being my personal syntax, but it feels like it's getting out of hand. I don't know, maybe I'm over-reacting, but it's still weird.
Oh, and it also extends to chapter reviews. I always feel like I'm saying something along the lines of "fantastic, now here's what you need to correct." It's...boring. I think what I need to do is put more thought into each review, say what I did/didn't like concerning the actual story, and then go into my critique. I would also try to guess what is going to happen in the near future, but I wouldn't want to spoil it for others if I happened to be right.
So yeah. Lots and lots going on.
EDIT: I just did this crazy thing! I had "Waters of Nazareth" playing on my computer, and I left the room for a bit. Then I randomly started snapping my fingers as I walked back, and when the song was in hearing range again, I realized that I was snapping in perfect time with the bass line! I'm so weird. XD -
August 28th, 2008 8:56 PMPOKEMON_MASTER_0Wow...you have an ending in sight! For One Latias, I didn't really. Elements now, I kind of do. I even have a scene planned out in my head for the very, very end...darn I wish I could share it! Better get back to writing *pulls up MS word*
And I look forward to the next chapter of Mastermind. Every morning, I listen to Genesis and that leads me to think about the first chapter of Mastermind, which was also named Genesis.
Well I'll see you later and may your pencil stay sharp and may your pen stay...um...ink-filled! (that sounded...odd) -
August 28th, 2008 8:37 PMtxteclipseYeah, I think that thread is a bit intimidating. There's some intense reviewers there. I'd like some critiquing, but I'm not sure if I'm up to having my story completely shredded.
Oh, and I'm solidifying the endscene for the Chronicles in my head these days. It's going to be one heck of a ride. It's funny...I'm writing now with a sense of where everything's going, but you all as readers have next to no idea what will happen unless you're really good guessers. So I'm sitting here during the last few chapters thinking "holy crap, they really don't know where this will end up." It's a trip.
Speaking of fanfiction, I guess I should finish the next chapter for "Mastermind." I already finished around a page a while back, before I started concentrating on the EC again. The next chapter is a little hard to write...not because I'm stuck, but because there's a scene that's slightly intense and it sets me on edge to think about it. I would classify it under "torturous," even though it isn't technically torture that's going on.
I have to get off the comp now, but I'll try to write in my notebook. I never really used it for anything big until I wrote the second half of chapter 23 in it a few nights ago. Needless to say I've developed a new appreciation for pen and paper. Talk to you later. -
August 28th, 2008 8:09 PMPOKEMON_MASTER_0Thus far it has been...but you're right, it's too early to make a final judgment, especially considering the fact that this forum is slow.
And about EC, that does make sense. I've been considering doing the same thing with the rewritten One Latias. There have been several chapters that I've thought of merging (the two "flight from Red Ridge" chapters near the beginning in particular). I suppose that putting together like events that occur within the same time frame is the most sensible thing to do.
The Beta Place...I'll check there tomorrow. I'm just about out of energy for tonight. Sounds worthwhile, though. Thanks for telling me about it. -
August 28th, 2008 8:00 PMtxteclipseIt's not a failure here. It's just that the fanfiction section is generally slow. I had two readers for my first few chapters, and then I got a few more, and then my initial readers left. I would suggest asking people to critique it in that one thread...I'll edit with the name of it.
Anyways, about shortening chapter 23: I left a part off that will instead find it's way into chapter 24. This is because a) I wanted to get the chapter out and b) another scene will occur that takes place at the same time as the bumped scene. It will simply mesh better as a result.
EDIT: The Beta Place is the name of that thread. Having someone review your work might not get you a lot of praise, but it will get you some strong editing help. -
August 28th, 2008 7:35 PMPOKEMON_MASTER_0I have a plan...I think. I do not know why One Latias (here) has been a failure thus far, but I may be able to turn it around. I'll have to look into the rules at IGN first and see whether or not we're allowed to link to external sites...(if you catch my drift)
And I'm curious as to how the Eon Chronicles is going. I recall you saying something about that you were going to abridge the chapter so that you could publish it. I guess I'm kind of in wonder about what's going on there. -
August 27th, 2008 1:47 PMPOKEMON_MASTER_0Actually, 5:30, plus fifteen minutes now that I glanced at the schedule. Yep, I'll see you then.
-
August 27th, 2008 1:45 PMtxteclipseAlrighty. I had to do some last moment tweakery, so it took a tad longer than expected. So you'll be back at five...I'll try to save some of my remaining computer time for around then. It's not like I have much to do online now, lol.
-
August 27th, 2008 1:23 PMPOKEMON_MASTER_0Yes! I'll go look. And lol, I know what you mean. I've seen the "Daft Punk's Electroma" ad too. I still curse myself for getting into Daft Punk in December of last year. They stopped in Seattle for their Alive 2007 tour in July of that year, I think.
I may stick around for a bit longer just to read EC. Then I need to go to tennis practice.
EDIT: I saw it and I'll read it when I get back. Darn you, tennis practice! I'll silently hope that it gets rained out.
So yes...see you later. -
August 27th, 2008 1:10 PMtxteclipseLook for it naow! Lol. I just burned through the few corrections I had to make, and it's ready to go. Posting will occur momentarily. This is always weird for me...it's like I've been working on a project for months and I'm finally done with it and a huge part of my mind dedicated to writing will be empty for a time.
NO WAY NO WAY NO WAY NO WAY!!!!!!!!! THERE'S A DAFT PUNK CONCERT AD AT THE TOP OF THE SCREEN! Oh wait...it's just an ad for ELECTROMA from some movie rental service. Curses and conflagrations!
