July 23rd, 2008 11:22 PMPOKEMON_MASTER_0Yeah, it is...interesting. With just a bunch of C's, H's, and O's, you can make thousands if not millions of different compounds. Although the materials engineering aspect of it is interesting (styrofoam and plastic especially. The molecules for those are amazingly huge), I think I like the biological aspect. I find it cool how certain medicine works. Like what I'm on now, acutane (for acne)...on the molecular level, it has a shape that allows it to bind to the regulatory regions of DNA that are responsible for the genes that make the body have oily skin. Bind to the regulatory regions and transcription is no longer possible, thus halting oil production, thus eliminating acne. Maybe a pharmacist would be up my alley...
Yeah...I'm thinking about calling it a night too. Well, have a good night and see you tomorrow, perhaps. -
July 23rd, 2008 10:59 PMPOKEMON_MASTER_0Good times indeed. It's been more than two years since I've been to an all-night thing. Darn, I need to start calling some old middle school friends up. Heck, the last time I talked to them I didn't like music and they were into...AC DC or something.
And that does sound like a cool dorm if it has video games and trance. And mechanical engineering...Ah, I'll look forward to the day when I actually decide what I want to do. All I know is that I am leaning towards the sciences...chemistry more specifically. -
July 23rd, 2008 10:41 PMPOKEMON_MASTER_0lol Then you're probably like my aunt. There's been many a phone conversation when she says, "Guess what! I forgot to eat lunch!" I always find that funny.
And hotdogs at 11:28. That reminds me of the days when we would assemble at my friend's house. The first thing that we'd do was go to the local Haggen's and buy a pizza along with a few bags of cookies and a bunch of pop. We would then come back to the house, hole ourselves up in the basement and play Halo 2 online. We went for a good 12 to 18 hours and stayed up all night. We never had regular meals either. Just ate pizza and cookies between games and drank pop the entire time. I think that we had too much pop or something. All of us were yelling into our communicators (which was especially fun to do while barging into the enemy base with a warthog).
Actually, one of the smartest among us did play a "It's Peanut Butter Jelly Time" ringtone through the communicator. Everyone got angry and left, so we ended up wining by default. lol -
July 23rd, 2008 10:15 PMPOKEMON_MASTER_0Yeah, that may work. And I remember how I always showed time by the sun or the color of the sky or what mealtime it was close to. Actually, I guess I do that in real life as well when I'm not watching the clock. Mealtimes especially. If I go for too long without a meal, I get angry. I'm not sure why. And then after eating, I get this burst of happiness...or what do the lumas in Super Mario Galaxy say? Something about "bursting with snacky happiness"? Wait...that sounds kind of...mental. lol

July 23rd, 2008 9:58 PMPOKEMON_MASTER_0Just looking at that though...I think you're a lot better at names than me. I guess the most original I've attempted so far is "Nadroj". In all honesty, I think that it's a really poor excuse for a name. I've gotten some criticism over it, too. However, I do have a way to justify it in Elements, so I guess that'll clean it up.
When I started writing Elements, I invented a new "title" feature...almost like a clock. For example:
CHAPTER 1: Reflections
CENTRIUM, THE CAPITAL, 2:15 P.M.
I think I'm going to use this format for all of my chapters. It really sets the scene right off the bat. Before the reader even starts reading, they'll know that they've jumped into a completely different world. Of course, I will have a bit of trouble if I show a meeting between Ultimo's members. I want to keep the location of their "base(s)" a secret for now. -
July 23rd, 2008 9:40 PMPOKEMON_MASTER_0I know. I remember the days of One Latias when I could publish a weekly chapter. For me, I think it has something to do with summer vacation. During the school year, I'd use writing as a break from school. I would usually write for an hour before going to sleep. It kind of cleared my mind.
Now that it's summer, I'm on a perpetual break. There aren't any stresses to escape from. In fact, I feel kind of lazy. If I don't work on a chapter for one day, I'll tell myself "It'll get done tomorrow."
And names are tough...Sometimes I just pull a "normal" name out of thin air and other times, it comes from my own demented mind. Actually, a number of characters I named and based off of people in real life. -
July 23rd, 2008 9:27 PMPOKEMON_MASTER_0Hey...just thought I'd drop you a line or two. Hopefully you aren't too busy right now. Um...what to say, what to say...That first chapter of Elements is still there, still unfinished. One of these days I'm going to have to turn off the music, ban myself from the internet, and ask my sister to stop playing Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (The TV is right next to my computer and it always seems to distract me.)

July 22nd, 2008 11:08 PMPOKEMON_MASTER_0Yeah, I need to sleep as well. I have a similar plan for tomorrow, very similar.
Goodnight and have a good...um...writing session tomorrow. -
July 22nd, 2008 10:54 PMPOKEMON_MASTER_0Yeah. I would probably even cancel it on the first day. Just get in, download what I want and get out. I don't know how reputable the entire deal is, so I'll have to do some research first.

July 22nd, 2008 10:49 PMPOKEMON_MASTER_0Huh...I'll have to look through some of that stuff and listen to some samples tomorrow.
I also just dug through the box that my mp3 player came in and found an offer for 50 free downloads from emusic.com. I don't know if it's worthwhile, but I'll look into it.
EDIT: I just found a remix of Traffic. What it sounds like, I'm not exactly sure, but they seem to have trance-type stuff. -
July 22nd, 2008 10:37 PMPOKEMON_MASTER_0Really...well, thanks. I've checked Amazon, but I've never heard of eMusic or mp3.com. I'll look around. And I guess that if all else fails, I would order a hard copy of the album, but I'm leaving that as a last resort.

July 22nd, 2008 10:22 PMPOKEMON_MASTER_0That is good. For me, the price of a 1 gig micro SD card would be twenty-five bucks. I guess that in the end, I'll probably bite the bullet and buy the additional 1 gig rather than upgrade to something better.
Also, I've been kind of curious about iTunes. I mean...does it have really obscure stuff in terms of music? Right now, I'm desperately searching for an album called Data 80. I've exhausted pretty much every major online music store except iTunes (I've never downloaded the software for it). I'm thinking maybe I should now...but I'll see, I guess. -
July 22nd, 2008 9:59 PMPOKEMON_MASTER_0Dang. Those are pretty cool. Reminds me of my own sorry MP3 player. My 1 gig memory is just about used up. The other day, even, I had to delete my DDR Supernova soundtrack just to make room for Elements of Life...I've considered getting a micro SD card, but those have been tough to come by right now.
Come to think of it, my story is kind of lacking in the quote department as well. Actually, there are a few, but they involve instances more than quotes (The "euphoria" in the epilogue and Latias's hate of being classified as "cute").
I'm still summarizing everything, but I'm almost finished. Just a few more paragraphs...And by the way, I have big plans for Kenji. I'll only say that they involve Team Miror. Looking back on it now, Team Mirror was probably one of the coolest things that I created in my fic. It's really too bad that it appeared in only a few chapters. -
July 22nd, 2008 9:32 PMPOKEMON_MASTER_0Yeah, no kidding. I heard that the guy who did it plotted the entire thing out on graph paper. I think he also did the video for Daft Punk's Around the World.

July 22nd, 2008 9:24 PMPOKEMON_MASTER_0Yes, I listened to Stress today and it was kind of boring...
I also forgot to mention another cool video that was done for the Chemical Brothers' Star Guitar. When you first look at it, it just appears to be a bunch of random stuff flying by. But if you look closer, everything is in sync with the music. Here...
