March 26th, 2014 11:52 AMRogue planetIt's diverse of course, I don't hate it, but I keep finding that the top rated releases are always things which I can appreciate but don't actually enjoy. To be fair I haven't kept up to date so I have no real idea, but all I tend to see is indie rock and some form of electronic. Obviously you get the universally appreciated albums every now and then, but as far as hard rock/metal goes (which is what I listen to most) it's going downhill.
I'll check it out. Probably won't register though.
I've never actually been to Belgium, but it isn't too far from me. We can convince the others to come to the low country festivals. Your English is good to me. Glad to hear it was good for you. When I hear of an epiphany abroad, I imagine either meditation and healthy eating or hardcore partying. -
March 26th, 2014 10:11 AMOddiseeActually, I've never frequented /mu/ ever haha. I only go there if I'm desperate to find a leaked album. We did however migrate from a now dead dark hole.
Yeah, I tend not to listen to Radiohead all that often anymore either. Their music's even more enjoyable when you return to it from time to time. I find myself coming back the most to Kid A funnily enough, that or In Rainbows.
Heh, we're the hippest ♥♥♥♥♥s on the block. Seriously? New music still excites me so much, the new stuff these days is so diverse and different, that is if you listen to the right stuff, I guess.
Ahh, Matt dragged me onto RYM. It's a real nice platform. https://rateyourmusic.com/~soulscream Here's mine, if you're interested. I take a lot of listens to rate stuff...
South-Africa was magnificent, I went there for a month to "study" English even though I didn't really learn too much new stuff. I did get more confident in my English speaking since it was the longest period of time I've spoken English, ever and that by a landslide. I mainly went there to see a new part of the world and to have a break from the everyday life over here in Belgium. I had to do some soul searching and I succeeded greatly in South-Africa. Now it's just a matter of applying my new ideas and experiences to this life. -
March 26th, 2014 8:27 AMRogue planetAlready spoke to Matt. You guys seem like you migrated here straight out of /mu/
Radiohead ofc are one of the greats. Pablo Honey... not even listened to it all the way through. Love everything after it though, I've taken most of their stuff out of my regular istening rotation because I abused the hell out of them a couple of years back. Find myself coming back to The Bends most often.
Yeah you guys are more hip than me. I stopped following current releases around about 2011 because I'm just not into what's hot at the moment.
Not registered on RYM, just a lurker.
How was Africa, what did you get up to? -
March 26th, 2014 1:23 AMOddiseehttp://www.pokecommunity.com/member.php?u=458320 You should talk to Matt, he's my music buddy and Grace is his all-time favourite album. I'm sure you'd get along.
Kid A's definitely in my top 10 ever as well. Radiohead themselves are the one band I can safely call my favourite band ever. I adore everything they do and have done (well mayeb Pablo Honey not, but let's just ignore that album).
My top actually doesn't change that much. They're definitely the albums I can always safely return to for a blast of a time.
As for what I'm listening to right now, mainly 2014 albums. I have a lot to catch up with since I was in South-Africa for a month and a lot of albums are leaking this week for some reason. I've been really impressed with the new Cloud Nothings and EMA records, they're awesome.
Do you have a RYM account? -
March 25th, 2014 4:07 PMRogue planetsame... i download 5 new albums for every one i listen to
MBDTF used to be my number1 for the longest time and will always be in my top 10, and Kid A was up there too (always preferred it to OK Computer, sorry) but my top change all the time. If I had to say right now I'd probably go for
Daft Punk - Discovery
At the Drive-In - Relationship of Command
Jeff Buckley - Grace -
